Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

At 30k miles and lifetime fluid from P and just replaced the amount that came out with the super duper P factory fill and called it a day.

You also need a new serpentine belt....and I would do the thermostat (unless it was recently replaced) while you are there

simply draining enough to change the water pump but I think the conventional wisdom would be to completely flush the coolant system while you are working on the pump.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I got the water pump pulley failure. I've heard this failure is pretty rare case.
Check the following URL to see the failure.

I need to replace the water pump. Does anyone know how much coolant will be draining by this job?
I'd like to drain the coolant as much as possible to refill it.
Thanks.
I would suggest always start with a search of the forum. These basic things have been discussed many times. Best procedure to drain (in my opinion) is the post on "Simple 3 step coolant flush" or something close to that name which is actually on the "new posts" link about halfway down the page. This is a flush procedure vs. simply draining enough to change the water pump but I think the conventional wisdom would be to completely flush the coolant system while you are working on the pump.

5-10 on the DIY scale.
Lots of threads as posted on the messy job.
I didnt drain the front radiators. At 30k miles and lifetime fluid from P and just replaced the amount that came out with the super duper P factory fill and called it a day. Did mine as part of my obsessive preventive maintenance mania.
You are right. Just looked at the video too.
He should spin the rollers to see if the bearings are good too. Looking a the roller surfaces, this car sat for a while.
