Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I do the same thing as quoted above, except I run the pigtail out by the windshield wipers when connected to the tender.

I have my car sitting in the garage with a trickle charger keeping the battery juiced up, and twice now a contractor has scratched my car while using the garage as a workshop.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Has anyone found a way to have their car covered while having a trickle charger connected? Should I just take the battery out to do this?
I have my car sitting in the garage with a trickle charger keeping the battery juiced up, and twice now a contractor has scratched my car while using the garage as a workshop. I wish I had a car cover on, but the damage has been done
at this point, I dont think Ill ever let a contractor in my garage again, but Id still like to find a way to keep the car covered and charging because my 1920s garage produces a ton of dust not to mention the neighborhood cat that keeps sneaking into my garage
I use a Battery Tender Jr. and have the pigtail connector wired permanently to my battery. I then run the cord down the channel where the hood seals and out the front down to the floor of my garage. This way I can close the hood and install my car cover without any issues.
Ditto. The trickle charger though the lighter works fine and I think it even says so in the owners manual. I just wouldn't try to force any more current through lighter circuit than you get form a trickle charger. I have it set up next to the car, so the battery is on trickle charge every night. Running a charger all the time saved my bacon when the alternator/starter cable corroded out. Gave me just enough juice to watch the voltmeter drop as I raced home.
I do the same thing as quoted above, except I run the pigtail out by the windshield wipers when connected to the tender. I leave the plastic battery cover loose when stored for charging. Before driving I completely close the battery cover, close the cover on the pigtail so there's no chance of shorting to anything and stuff it under so it doesn't hang out in the breeze. The harness from the pigtail to the tender runs under the car cover.
