Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Jacked up the right side a bit, loosened the drain plug, took off the filter, dropped the car back down onto the catch-pan (was amazed at the renewed gush of oil when the car was level again), left it for an hour, in the meantime changed the air filter, then jacked it back up, new oil filter element on, drain plug back in, then put in 8.5 qts to start, level was on the low side, dumped in the other 1/2 qt, now it's one line below full, drove around and got it hot and rechecked, all is good, no leaks, job well done!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Changed the oil on my new-to-me '02 Carrera! So easy, can't imagine ever paying someone to do it.
The start of much more things to come.. Lots of DIY work in the offing for you young man. Nothing nicer than the feel of knowing that the work has been done correctly and by yourself is there? Now go to Youtube and find films of other preventative work that you can do on your car. Serpentine belt is an easy job. I am pleased for you. Good work.
That's usually the first thing to do to get to know your Porsche, and it opens the doors for other DIY projects. Nice going, now , about that leaky coolant tank...
Nice, did mine for the first time in the weekend too. Didn't bother jacking it, could reach in to undo the filter and sump plug easily enough. Did the wife's X5 as well and they were equally easy I think. Very happy to have that done and out of the way for another 6 mths.
