Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

YOUR PROBLEM COULD BE A FAULTY MAF,INTAKE LEAK AFTER THE MAF,TORN BELLOWS TUBE,EXHAUST LEAK BEFORE O2 SENSOR,OR LOW FUEL PRESSURE(IIRC THESE ARE THE POSSIBLE CAUSES IN THE FACTORY WORKSHOP MANUAL).DEPENDING ON MILEAGE AND AGE I WOULD CHECK THE BELLOWS TUBE FIRST,THEN THE MAF.
Leading evidence: 'Replace mass air flow sensor' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check bellows tube first, then the maf' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

There are a few Rennlisters who routinely clean their MAF's at oil change and don't seem to be bothered by MAF problems.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey Guys,
I was taking a little drive this morning and the CEL came on. Engine seems to be running fine with no roughness at idle and smooth acceleration through all gears. Stopped at Autozone and they read the codes for me. P1126 - rich threshold on cylinders 4-6.
Any ideas on how to correct? Clean the MAF? Replace MAF? O2 sensors?
Thanks,
Tim
I would invest in an OBD2. I have it on my laptop and it is very usefull. I had the same codes throw earlier this year so I cleared and it came back within days. I cleared 3 or 4 times and it came back within days every time. This helped me to confirm that it was not an anomoly and that there was something wrong. Helped me to save a trip to the dealer if I didn't need to. But since the codes kept tripping I took it in and they replaced the MAF under warranty and haven't had a code since then.
Like Del says verify that it is not a false positive first. If it continues to throw a CEL, pop the MAF and clean it with IPA or a an electronics part cleaner, air dry carefully with compressed or canned air (carefully) and replace. If it throws again, chances are its a bad MAF.

Thought I was in the clear on this as I put about 150 miles on the car w/ no recurrence of the CEL. Took the car today for emissions testing and the CEL came on literally 100 feet before the inspection station. Now I've got codes P1126 and P1124 (lean on both sides). Car still seems to run fine. I'm thinking MAF but I'm going to take it to the dealership this week and see what they say.
