I am aware that I can unlock the doors with the key but since the manual is locked in the car I wanted to know the procedure for getting this back to normal from anyone that has experienced this or knows how to rectify it.

Hi, Looking for some help here since I feel this is a bit different than what I've been finding in the searches. I had the main battery replaced on my '04 C4S Cab about a week ago. Drove the car around all day that day and then parked her in my garage and left the doors unlocked as I always do. BOTH keys were working fine and were in a drawer in the house. Went back to the car (one week later) and the doors are locked. BOTH key FOBS will not unlock the car although the lights on both are flashing as usual when I press the buttons. It cannot be a coincidence that both Key FOBS failed at the same time. I am aware that I can unlock the doors with the key but since the manual is locked in the car I wanted to know the procedure for getting this back to normal from anyone that has experienced this or knows how to rectify it. Would appreciate any help here. Ted

The car stops listening for the remotes after about 5 days to conserve power. Then you have to unlock with the key in the lock. Could be you just need to unlock the car, insert key in ignition and start it up. Then try the remotes again.

Thank you. I'll try it but I've owned the car for 3 years and this is the first time It has done this. I have let it sit for a month multiple times and it didn't happen. Although that was on the battery that I replaced. Maybe installing a new one triggered the circuit.
