Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Chuck, you really know how to use a camera....are you sure that's my car?

You can also use the Mk.II Cup lip (which is what is on my car in that pic) which is deeper but you will need to drill a few more holes and trim off the edges as it is slightly too long.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Still getting to know my new camera and my '03 Carrera.
Well, I never seem to get a shot of my own car, because I'm always behind the camera at the track!
Still, this is one of my favorite 996 shots - coming up Hailwood hill into Druids at Brands Hatch UK.
newport996 - that's a really neat image.. a little different from the normal
static shots.. How'd you do that? Some sort of boom & remote arrangement?
- Nick
love the aero and lowering job, but how do you not scrape? i guess u just can't help it. i'm also low like you and can't get outta driveways without scraping.
It's not aero and it's not lowered, it's a GT3 and it comes like this from the factory. And yes, it scrapes everywhere but I don't drive it much on the street.
Ciao,
J.

Haha, I saw the Birkdale thing too. I've been here almost 4 years (and will be leaving in a month) and I've never been to Red Rocks...maybe I ought to pay a look.
Is the front lower lip that critical?
I was going arount 100 to 115mph and I thought it was fine.
Anyways, I am interested in getting the lower lip.
Where do I get it from? Does Dealers sell this part?
Is the part# 996 505 986 02 G2X , correct?
Thanks for your advise!
The lip reduces front end lift rather dramatically, your car will feel much more stable over the front at high speeds with this lip installed.
Your dealer will have this part and should not be very expensive. I think it's around US$ 100.- The part # you have is correct. You can also use the Mk.II Cup lip (which is what is on my car in that pic) which is deeper but you will need to drill a few more holes and trim off the edges as it is slightly too long. Part # 996.505.986.91 and should cost around US$ 100.- as well but can only be purchased from Porsche Motorsport. Your dealer is not likely to have access to the Motorsport parts catalog.

^ they'll make you very happy. car's in for paint right now..as soon as it comes out i'll box em and send em...just been really tied up with exams..last 2 are this week.
now lets see some pics of the club racer!
I raced the new cup car this weekend but they didn't have a photographer so I don't have any good pics yet. Just bad shots of it sitting in the driveway. It needs to be captured in it's natural environment.
WOW!!! Great pic.
Thaks for sharing.
I love Porsches, is it any wonder I fell in love with them all those years ago. No matter the year or the model.. well maybe not the SUV's so much.
Just super looking cars right from the very beginning.
Look at this picture. I took it last year a Jarama circuit (Madrid - Spain).
The front left wheel is "on the air"
Here you can see the wheel more detailed:
My favorite photo: Club411 in Chicago
My favorite car: the red GT3CS in Spain
Car(s) I'd most like to own: I'm pretty happy with my combo
Least favorite mod: Street tuner wings
Great cars everyone!
Still getting to know my new camera and my '03 Carrera.
Thinking my first mod will be to do something about the ride hight, just needs to come down a inch or so I think.
Thanks to everyone posting pics, I never really get tired of looking at these cars. All the colors and different mods really show what a winning shape the 911 has.....and not just the 996, love em all.
Hope I got the resize of the pic right.
Keep em coming everyone.
Chuck Jones and I got together for an afternoon drive and a couple pictures of our Porsches. I met Chuck a couple months ago on Rennlist. We have 99s with similar modifications, unusual colors, and chromies. We also are in the same profession.
Rennilst is a great place. Sorry Chuck, I took some liberties with the picture of yours....the sky and lake weren't blue enough to do your iris blue car justice.

Porsche_Smile - yep in progress of researching replacment wheels now. The ones in the picture came with the car when I bought it 3 months ago, I never really liked them as I hate chrome wheels on any car.
pobox604 - nice car, those wheels, what size are they? (wheels and tyres). Did you change your suspension too?
Actually, I have never been a real big fan of Red cars. While I don't dislike it, it has not been near the top od my list of favorite colors. But, it is growing on me more and more in a P-car.
Best pic I've gotten to date.. unfortunately, the sun was at the wrong angle
so it's not as crisp as it should be.. I'll get better at some point. Taken today at about 11.5 K feet.
- Nick
Thanks. Looks like we have similar tastes
Hard to get the light right - all the mountains here face east (are in the west), so to get the proper light you gotta get up there in the morning - and I'm just to lazy to get up at 6 AM to get there at first light

It's a private, no-name, off-brand shop that does a lot of detail work for one of the more prestigous Porsche dealers in SoCal. The shop may LOOK sketchy, but the $40 hand wash job done by these guys is heads and shoulders above the $100-$150 mini-detail jobs done at nicer looking facilities. They're slow, but the prices are reasonable and they'll drop-off and/or pick-up your car for no extra charge. They'll even offer you a beer if you decide to wait!!! The quality of work is second to none. They made my 10 year old 140,000 mile tow-vehicle look showroom new..... for $200. It's not uncommon to see late model Bentley's, F-Cars, etc. in their shop..... one of the best kept secrets in LA.
There's a lot to be said for low overhead.
