Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Anyhow, I changed the front rotors with brand new OEM's, the brake pads on all 4 corners were mintex red's which were freshly changed, and fluid was new RBF600 Motul.

Someone else can comment but I have used carbo-tech, Hawk and other pure track pads.

At first i thought the fluid was boiling or had air in the lines, but that didnt make sense as i've used RBF600 for SEASONS without having it go bad...let alone 10kms on track.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Was at the track today for a lapping day and SOLO1 style event. Long story short..after my 2nd or 3rd lap around, my brakes turn to total mush and it feels as if the rotors arn't grabbing the disks and the pedal is much much softer compared to the normal rock hard solid porsche brake feel.
I'm pissed as this meant that i turned some pretty ****ty laptimes for the event and on the circuit i didn't break 1:30..or at least that's what i was told...after my buddy who was running the thing told me that...i just got really grumpy and took off.

Before I start taking stuff appart 2morro, anyone want to brainstorm as to what caused the problems?
At first i thought the fluid was boiling or had air in the lines, but that didnt make sense as i've used RBF600 for SEASONS without having it go bad...let alone 10kms on track.
Possibly glazed the pads?
Another thing is that on the way home (just to top things off it was raining on the way back...lovely...!@#$) after getting some steady high speed air without having to heave on the brakes, they came back to life a bit, but not fully as they should have been, which leads me to belive that this also may be a cooling problem? Screwed up brake ducts?
Anyhow, thanks for listening to my half-assed rant. Time to start fixing stuff up 2morro.
Well, as a brake problem expert(lots of problems including fire!) I would start like this:
Bleed them first and see if air is in the system and from which end? Does the pedal feel right now?
Check the rotors for a blue tint, from overheating.
I have no idea if mintex reds are good for the track? Someone else can comment but I have used carbo-tech, Hawk and other pure track pads. Rotor color will tell part of this stroy.
Pull the pads and look for galzing...hard sheen over the pads.
Was there plenty of brake dust on the wheels both front and back? Indicator of the pads not being glazed over.
And with all of this you should get the direction to travel. Good luck!
What a bunch of ambulance chasers
Noooo there are no pics...but the corner workers can tell a good story about the time my rear brakes just wouldn't let go and I wouldn't stop racing
When they came running towards me when I had to stop with full fire gear you know you have a problem
That stupidity was expensive!
Damn, Steven, I hope you fired those corner workers.... for not getting a video of your flame thrower!
Seriously, that must have been scary! Buy now that I know you are OK, (well, in most respects anyway) some pics would have been great!
These were the same corner workers who told me at lunch the day I lost the right front wheel at 90+mph in a left hand turn that they thought the car was going over that time. As far as I am concerned these guys are a big jinx! But I do love them...I think??
Well, Steven, I made a fer inquiries and it appears that your flame throwing episode was captured by one of the corner workers.
BTW - this guy told me that he was actually responsible for manning the fire extinguisher if it was needed, but got too carried away with his REAL hobby... yup, you guessed it... photography!
