Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

that''s no way to start your day. Just better open it up. maybe one of the Wizards here will have some recommendations. I'm not much help. I have a taco. I'm sure someone can help you.
Ouch! Clearly, the left (drivers side) actuator has failed - the question is why? My first move would be to pop the engine lid. Can you see the actuator with the lid open? If not, pop those plastic rivets that hold the plastic "bellows" to the spoiler - that should expose the inner workings (actuators and the points they connect to). Once you've got eyes on the insides, you should be able to figure out what's going on. Good Luck
uh oh... I would try a gentle hand to either lower or raise the spoiler. Of course it will take two people, one to operate the manual switch and one to gently either push down or pull up. Open the engine lid to expose two operating cylinders. Look at them closely. You will see some holes in the cylinders. Shoot a liberal quantity of WD-40 or silicone spray in the holes and all over the lift cylinders. Hopefully it is just frozen from lack of use. Worse case is the center motor mechanism and plastic gear drive cracked. Good luck.
Was there a PPI done before taking possession? Just curious.

Do a search: porsche 996 spoiler crooked + 6speed/rennlist/renntech I did and quickly found a few hits, videos etc. In mean time get a helper like suggested a carefully get it down. Curious? Is it a sign or bore scoring, AOS failure, In need of IMSS or looking to get your post count up? These irrelevant comments to OP's questions is why rennlist has 'jumped the shark'😴

:-) Ive gotten very good responses. Ill take a look when I get home and will update everyone.

well, yes and no. The seller offered a free PPI of which I have a copy. I asked the seller to tell me anything and everything hes aware of wrong with the carno mention of this. I purchased the car on eBay.

It's one of those things that can just happen. It's an old car and it might be a good idea to go over it with a fine toothed comb. These aren't like old VW's though. Lets see (the Bug) it!

His question was answered so STFU and go away if you don't like it! I was curious if it had been tested and in good working order, Richard!

Youre telling the guy who provided a detailed answer to STFU and go away while you dont add any value to the conversation? Seriously, just stop.
Hopefully it won't be too expensive to fix. A few years from now, you can look back and chuckle about this crooked spoiler

Im the original poster. I asked the question, seeking help for my spoiler. I never told anyone to shut up. Anyhow. Ive revived valuable feedback from several people. Its all good. Have a good one.

Classicbug, my comment was for 808Bill in regards to his remarks towards 85eurocarrera. Hope you get the issue resolved! If you do, I hope you don't mind sharing what the resolution is.

Sweet Victory, thanks. Ill definitely provide an update. Im sure Ill get it resolved.
NASCAR option? Like cranking in some wedge.

sprayed it with silicon lubricant. Problem still persists. Seems as if its binding physically. See attached video. When I put the spoiler in the up position, the passenger side actuator doesnt appear to lock into place.

If I'm not mistaken, there is only one motor for the deck lid spoiler. You probably need to replace one of the lift arms. The internal grease has probably dried up and the plastic gears are broken. I'd buy a used one on ebay or something. Maybe Porsche sell the individual parts. Good luck!
