Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm having intermittent trouble starting my 2003 996 cab. Sometimes. but not all the time, when I try to start my cab (by turning the key all the way to the right, of course) nothing happens-no cranking, nothing. I must go through two or three cycles of returning the key all the way to the left and try starting again in order to get the car to crank. Like I said above the problem is intermittent and only occurs about 25% of the time. Does anyone have any ideas what might be the problem? Thanks, John

POST 2Original post

This may sound foolish, but if you have a stick, have you checked your floormats? Sometimes they get hung up and in the way of the clutch pedal. You may think you are pushing it down all the way, but it really isn't.

POST 3Original post

Second the clutch response. Happened to me once and I thought I had a problem.

POST 4Original post

I had that problem in my 2003 Cab once. Had 2 sets of floor mats for protection and the clutch wouldnt go down all the way. Problem solved with the removal of the second floor mat. The clutch really has to be pushed all the way to the floor with no impediments. Cabman
