Too much body roll, so I installed Eibach sway bars.

They seemed like very good build quality, and installed quite easily.

I replaced the original suspension on my 99k '99 996 last month.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looking for first hand experience for suggestions and satisfaction with setups, need to update my rarely used street 1999 cabriolet 996 so cost is definitely a factor in choice.
Thanks for the help

Whats on it now? Feal coil-overs seem to be the budget minded suspension of choice. I dont think Ive heard a bad review by anyone here who has bought/installed them
Bought my '04 996.2 in October with 65,000 miles. Obsessive maintenance by previous owners. Had Bilstein B4s about 6k miles back on stock springs. I would have preferred B6s, but these are good. Spring rates and damping are good for an occasional autocross or DE. Too much body roll, so I installed Eibach sway bars. End result is a great combo for mountain driving. As time goes on, I may go to B6s and Eibach springs.
Do you want or need an adjustable suspension ? If yes go with adjustable coilovers. If that is not required than the factory M030 setup may work for you . My 99 C4 the previous owner installed a ROW M030 suspension setup and so far I like everything about it . Nice stance and handles and rides well.
Everyone has an opinion and just like exhaust sound the feel of a suspension is very subjective . Go to a PCA autocross or DE and chat it up . What car ride height looks good to you ? Ask the owner if you can ride along . Actually feeling the suspension work is the best way to determine what you like .
No need for any adjustable setups this is truly just a street ride, fronts are totally worn out so front is indeed lower due to that. If I want to drive a setup that is aggressive I go to the track with the 996 race car 😀

In no particular order:
1) Bilstein B4 or B6(upgrade) with stock springs
2) Feal 441 coilovers - This is what I have, they are quality and I like them alot. Alot of positive reviews. Company has race history (mostly drifting), and I think these would work for a road/track mix. ~$1400 depending on options.
3) OEM M030 ROW sport setup. - this is a stock/OEM lowered setup. But, last I priced it out, it was rediculously expensive. Like $3000+
4) Ohlin road and track - A bit pricey, but for street with some track, these are consistently reviewed as the best option. $2800 or so? It's been a while since I priced them out.
EDIT: Just saw your 'race car' picture. I think you probably know everything I just said!
So, I'll just add that I like the Feal 441. They seemed like very good build quality, and installed quite easily. The set comes with a new camber adjustable hat, and even a monoball bearing if you upgrade a little. You don't have to reuse anything from the stock setup, which is better than the default Ohlin set, for a much better price. They are height and stiffness adjustable. I'm still tuning the stiffness in. Most go about 27 clicks to full stiff (30), but that was too much for me, I'm at about 15/30 and it rides much better.
I agree. That is not factory stock ride height. I don't think it is US M030 either but I suppose it's possible. This matters because you will want to get shocks and bump stops that are appropriate for the ride height. Unless you go with coilovers of course. Also shock absorbers do not hold the car up; they only mitigate suspension bouncing/travel. Ergo worn shocks will not cause a change in ride height. It's possible that your springs have weakened but I have not heard of that happening on these cars.
I'm installing stock b4 with new springs and everything else for the rear, which I think is the least expensive option. The driver's side rear sits about 12MM lower than passenger rear, so I am pretty sure it is the springs, but at 21 years and previous owner was XXL for 18 of those. While in there, also new drop links and sway bar bushings. Front was replaced 2021.
I refreshed my entire car, 2002 C2 Cabriolet, with Koni Active Suspension and LOVE IT. It's perfect for daily driving/spirited weekend driving w/o the harshness of a GT2 type ride. I've also got a 2005 Turbo S with Ohlins; my fillings keep falling out.
I replaced the original suspension on my 99k '99 996 last month. Went totally stock with B4s,
drop links, bump rubber, rear sway bar links, and upper strut mounts. The front sits much higher now. The ride at first felt like a pogo stick, but it has settled greatly and I'm enjoying it. I grapple with if I should have gone more aggressive, as I drive local canyons, but I did want the total stock package. Paid $3k for parts and labor. Might have over paid on hours, but was happy with the shop.
I saw you YouTube video (CK looks sexy 😁

I have the Ohlins R&T and absolutely love it. My car is seating very low but still very comfortable.
