I guess the PO replaced the windshield with an aftermarket (Fuyao AS1 M848).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I thought this woulda been an easy one and maybe I'm just an idiot but I can't seem to find the correct part# for a C4S (I assume same as a C2) outer windshield weather stripping. Mine needs replacing. I ordered what I thought was the right part from Pelican but it's way too thin. The ones I see when searching all look too thin as well. Anyone have the part #?

POST 2Original post

Are you talking about this one? also what year is your car?

POST 3Original post

The windshield trim frame for a 996 is: [phone removed].01 for up to 01 and 996.541.541.02 for 02-04 it Doris not differentiate between the C2, C4 or c4s as far as I can see. Information is from the Porsche PET parts diagrams, 996, 99-05, Body, Window Glazing Hope this helps.

POST 4Original post

The seal is 996.541.531.01 It is the same for all models

Awesome. Thx dude.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I looked up that part number and I think that is what I ordered last time around. Have attached pics of my seal. Note the channel that goes around the windshield edge. The Pelican one didn't have this amd was much thinner. I thought maybe I had an aftermarket windshield but my buddy has an identical car to mi.e and his weather stripping was way thicker/wider than this too. May e I'm just losing my mind. Who knows.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I'm not crazy. I guess the PO replaced the windshield with an aftermarket (Fuyao AS1 M848). The moulding is way different.
