Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

If you, or the previous owner ever filled the tank up with the car running the gas gauge will only go as high as 3/4 full.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

from picking up my 1st Porsche !!!!!!!!!!
Short story (for those that didn't see my prior posts): Been looking to trade up from my '99 Prowler with 4800 miles to a '99 Cab C2 with lo miles. Anyway, the end reults is that in about 7 hours I will be picking up an
'01 Cab C4 with 21,500 miles
I'm so excited I can barely contain myself.
(oh and I just joined Rennlist too)
See ya on the roads...I'll be the guy grinning from ear to ear as the wind whips across my chrome dome
Jeff
What a way to start off the weekend! Enjoy and please post some pics. The membership was your first mod before you even have the car? I can't wait to see some of your posts in a couple of weeks with all of the upgrade and mods...you are a head of the game. Congratulations!
The only pics I have (below) were taken by the previous owner and they are kinda small but here they are anyway:
5 hours to go ... must remember to breathe...
jeff_c: *The only pics I have SNIP were taken by the previous owner and they are kinda small but here they are anyway:*
Nice ride, Jeff. And like any new relationship, start slow and enjoy every moment. You can go fast later...
I assume you are referring to the coolant tank leakage issue? So do you mean replace the cap or the whole tank?
(and where would I buy this from?)
@stilton_a_cheese: Thanks for the advice.
Thanks,
Jeff
3.5 hours and counting...has anybody ever actually had a heart attack from anticipation?
Since it's a 2001, next time you bring it to the dealer see if the gas gauge recall was fixed on your car.
If you, or the previous owner ever filled the tank up with the car running the gas gauge will only go as high as 3/4 full.
Great looking car, enjoy!!
and now the facelift.....like I did!!! because you got to mod....if you want to post on rennlist!!!
Just installed silver airbag strips....lookin' goooddddd
Nicholaas - you just installed silver airbag strips and didn't post any pics?!?!?!? You know that is a big no, no
don't you? Man, with over 340 posts, you ought to know better!
Come on, post 'em up!
and what a rush!
Thanks to all of you that have given me advice (some without even knowing it as I've been lurking for a while).
I'm sure I'll have a bunch of questions in the coming days and I'll know just where to ask them....
Jeff
I have 99 cab blk on blk with the same wheels you have. The first mod I did was cup holders, followed by SSK, followed by PSE, followed by the PSE electronics, followed by a blue tooth phone kit, followed by clear side markers, followed by a dash switch for the garage door opener, followed by silver gage rings, followed by aux in for the radio. Next one will be an iPod adaptor so I can use the radio controls and keep the iPod in the storage console and to upgrade the amp and speakers.
My must have mods have been the cup holders, SSK, PSE (with electronics), gage rings and the bluetooth.
You are going to love this car.
It has been raining so much here I almost forgot about the convertible top hack to allow operation of the top when you are other than stopped and the switch to allow operation with a simple push vs. holding the button down.
Just got home from day of driving basically nowhere
Got some pics of the car with the hard-top on*:
*where it has to stay until I figure out a place to store it
Thanks, all, for your words of encouragement.
Jeff
gota911: *Someone recently (within the last week) posted a link to a wall mounted hard top rack.*
I got one. Took about 1/2 hour to put it together and another 1/2 hour to mount it on the wall directly in front of the automobile. The wife and I can swap out the hard top in about 6 minutes.
Concord, NC? I'm from Halifax County but somehow or the other I live in Germany. I have no idea how that happened.
I remember the days I picked up my 993 then 996... I don't think there was a difference between the first time I was picking up my first porsche and the second one... The hysteria is just too much!!CONGRATULATIONS!!
Stilton - I am in Concord in Cabarrus County, which is north east of Charlotte. If you can believe it, there are actually six (yes, 6) towns in NC with the name Concord. Here are the counties in which each "Concord" is located:
Cabarrrus - about 25 miles north-east of Charlotte
Duplin - about 50 miles north of Wilmington
Person - about 50 miles north of Raleigh/Durham
Rutherford - about 70 miles west of Charlotte
Sampson - about 30 northwest of Concord in Duplin County
Yancey - about 40 miles north of Asheville
How's that for early state planning?

The Frau and I drove there from Chapel Hill one sunny Sunday just for something to do. Didn't have a p-car then, dammit.
Finally had a nice top-down day here on Long Island and my buddy took some snaps for me:
And I've already got some mods on the way ... SSK and clear sidemarkers
Heart rate finally dropping to normal
Jeff
Nice looking cab! Congrats!
BTW, just in case your friend taking the pics didn't tell you.... while you were driving with the top down, all of your hair blew off!
