This is not a probability of success.

And, do "we" like the Sumitomo's....this car is used for JUST pleasure drives.

Suggestion
I only use my car for mostly pleasure drives and occasional track time.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm sure this has been discussed MANY times and opinions are ............ but,
My "New to me" 03 Carrera Cab (2wd) is going to be needing tires...Fronts ar dated 07 rears are new but mismatched..
I like the "wide look", and I had put 315's on our 06 Cab. So, can I also put 315's on this car?
And, do "we" like the Sumitomo's....this car is used for JUST pleasure drives.
There is a huge price range for tires for these cars...
I recently went with pilot super sports and love them. Car accelerates faster and doesn't lose grip. Night and day difference compared to my pilot sport a/s with low tread.
I went with Continental ExtremeContact DW's and car doesn't seem to even want to break loose.. Confidence Inspiring.. Highly Recommended.. I only use my car for mostly pleasure drives and occasional track time.
With the correct wheel offset and width along with suspension height a 315 will fit on a nb car. Give us more info. U should already have rolled fenders being a mk2
You need to replace those front tires also, they are over 10 years old!
I run Michelin Pilot Sports, incredible tires, lots of grip when wet.
Don't know about the different widths...
The Pilot sports are great!
But also expensive, you get what you pay for. Just avoid tracking with them, beginner/occasional HPDE is fine.
Do you want the wider tires purely for looks or grip?
Very easy decision from an engineering perspective. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Best tire on the market. They replaced the super sports. Have them on my 996 and they are amazing.

BIG price difference between the Sumitomo and Pilot sports! I'm in the market for new tires on my 03 also. Daily driver no track autoX. SOOOOO I'm trying to justify the BIG price diff. ANY opinions on the Sumitomo or the other more inexpensive tires? How about Nankang for 273 for the set of 4??

(just kidding)
One of the best bargains in tires and has been that way forever. My tire brands of choice are Michelin and Continental. If you need a good deal Bridgestones. If you want cheap I strong prefer Hankook tires over Sumitomo. The Sumi designs are old and out of date compared to other performance tires. Tire tech is changing fast.
Im just a dude from TX that doesnt know amything though. My current Porsches are on Michelins and Contis though. Now for tires I intend to abuse.... yes I go cheap.
Do u have stock wheels? Post a pic and the part number if u do. We can figure out what size and offset u have or u can google it. I dont think i would go past a 295 on a 10" rim but there are many tire-rim calcs if u want to check what fits.
Fyi, your year car is a mk2. They all have the fenders rolled from the factory. Earlier mk1 do not.
The Sumi's will be just fine for pleasure driving...Unless your pleasure is ripping around like Mario, then the best tire you can buy would be warranted.
If you are looking for a bargain the Potenza S04 is a much newer design that the Sumitomo tires and so are Hankook ventus v12s. Tire tech changes fast.
If you can spend a bit more you will really appreciate the Contis or Michelins.
But Im just some guy from TX. I may not know anything.
