no cables on the 996 turbos. Specially in Europe there are 996 cars coupes rwd that were produced as early as 1997. I saw a 12/97 car. So that car was probably a 98 model car. In my case is weird because when I give Porsche dealerships my vin number they say my car is a 98. The tittle and insurance company say it�s a 99.
