Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I love my 40th Anniversary 911, choosing over a 996 TT that was lucky enough to test drive.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i have a local dealer really trying to sell me an anniversary car at a good discount. he is already talking mid 80s before I put him in a headlock. any thoughts on the car and if i will see any big difference between this car and mine. thanks for the help this forum has always provided.

POST 2Original post

If they give you a good trade value go for it, the 40th car has a lot of upgrades over a std C2 (X51, LSD, TT nose...).

POST 3Original post

The anniversary models are loaded with options. You should get a good discount. I don't know how well they are selling. My own opinion is the the X51 and Turbo bodywork works well, but you can keep most of the trim items. Good luck, at least 10%?

POST 4Original post

It is a blast...so far my favorite of the four porsches I've had. You will enjoy the options on the car, but understand there are better vehicles out there if you intend to track the car (namely GT3 for a few pennies more). I think mid 80s is doing pretty well as it is...you must be a better negotiator than I am: I was happy to get the car for ninety even a couple of months ago. As we get closer the 997 release, prices might be getting softer on all the 996s, and particularly so on the ones with heavy options, like these cars.

POST 5Original post

You're getting a great deal. I love my 40th Anniversary 911, choosing over a 996 TT that was lucky enough to test drive. The X-51 equipped engine pulls strongly throughout the RPM range. It feels light on its feet and the suspension is a nice balance between handling and comfort. There's only one thing I would change and that is to put the GT3 front end on it instead of the turbo nose.
