I just checked the lock on the steering wheel, not that.

I assumed it was the suspension, but have now noticed that if I just pull back towards me or push in hard on the steering wheel I get the same sound.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know this is hard to diagnose but I am getting this clunk from the front (can't tell that it is from one side or the other) when I go over small bunps, accelorate or decelorate, and turn sharp at slow speeds. I assumed it was the suspension, but have now noticed that if I just pull back towards me or push in hard on the steering wheel I get the same sound. It makes me wonder if there is something in the steering linkage. Anyone have any ideas before I take it to the dealer? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Bowling ball in the trunk? Make sure the telescoping steering wheel is locked in tight.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just checked the lock on the steering wheel, not that. I also checked to see that the spare and the battery were not loose.

POST 4Original post

I have a GT3, just 1K miles on it, taking it in next week to have the front end sway bars tightened up, due to similar clunking problems coming from the driver's side, very similar to what you describe. Let us know what you find out.
