Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hopefully I have a quick questionI recently had the following work done on the car: new clutch, LN IMS, Slave Cylinder and AOS (car info: 2003, C4S, 52k miles). I have the occasional airbag light issue. plugged in durametric to clear the air bag code and saw this code: P0830 Fault 446 Clutch Pedal Encoder. I've done limited searches, but haven't found much. New clutch doesn't feel any different. Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated.
Maybe that red switch is unlpugged?

There are only two switches on the clutch pedal to detect its position (sort of). The grey switch in the photo is the clutch safety lock switch that prevents the starter from cranking unless the clutch pedal is pushed in. You didn't mention anything about issues with starting hence my guess of the red switch, which is for cruise control.
Hey you said you have searched....I found this from 1st entry from google
http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...elp-p0830.html
I'm curious to know how that related to the airbag light though.
Ashai...thanks! I'll check the red switch. I bet you're right. I'm on 6speed as well and saw that post...it didn't really say much about what may have caused it. I found a few posts of a mod that can throw the code. Only negative of this code that I found is spot on with your diagnosis which is cruise will not work. Fortunately...I've never used the cruise control. Thanks again- ****sorry, I forgot to mention the airbag has nothing to do with the clutch code. I get the airbag light every 6 months or so. I clean the sensors and reset it. Eventually will have to replace drivers side connector.
Anytime!
Ok, I feel better now that the two are not related....was scratching my head. If you read post #2 on the link above, it does mention clutch switch
Ok try this to fix the issue.
1-The red switch has a a black plastic tip that the clutch pedal pushes in when it is released
2- Press the clutch pedal slightly with your hand.
3- Pull out the plastic tip on the rid switch you will hear a few clicks when pulling on it.
4- release pedal and reset fault code.
5- Restart your engine and try the cruse control switch.
I just love a necrothread, first post, and a solution posted after 7 years. Do ya think the original poster ever figured it out after 7 years? Just wondering...
I'm sure they solved the issue. Just trying to help other people that might come across this thread.
Please do not respond to such "necrothread" with useless time wasting comments. Find something better to do
