I was running the fabspeed muffler delete but last year I installed a couple PSE mufflers.

Started with a standard aquarium, diamond hole saw through bottom of tank, fitted an overflow and large sump underneath.

If you want to run the side ones then I'd use some splitter fins on the front.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I saw this thread before. It came out fantastic, but I just can't imagine so much effort for what I would consider so little reward.
Very impressive work! A very fun thread to read through.
At least your buddy posted:
Can't argue with that at all.
Hey guys, this is my project. Atrox, thanks buddy for sharing this. I appreciate all the compliments and posts. I had a lot of fun with this project. I'm glad to see it all finished. Next I am moving onto the interior where I'll be installing a full cage, bucket seats and a new steering wheel.
I didn't catch the name of the gentleman who said the hood looks off at the bumper. That's because in these pictures the hood latch wasn't installed. The hood was actually sitting below the bumper at this point and not upright closing off the gaps around the bumper. I assure you that in person it all aligns as should be.
To the gentleman who said my car needs more "spatula". I don't know what that even means.
Nicely done as commented in the original thread. RL is quite a bit different than 6spd as you can already see, which requires thicker skin sometimes without getting offended.
Welcome aboard.
Alpine, thanks for the compliment. I understand that everyone has their own opinions and everyone has the right to them. I absolutely know some will see this as a cool upgrade and others won't. As I stated in the original post on 6speed, I'm very aware of all this but I'm not looking for the "hater" comments. I see a lot of posts that I disagree with or dislike. I just click the back button and move on to the next post.
My skin is thick, I toughened it up on the battlefields of Iraq. I don't see accepting someone's bash as having to be tough though. If someone has constructive criticism I'm always open for discussion but the second someone tries telling me that their way is the only way is when I stop listening. If I see that on here I'll just delete my post and go back to 6speed. Not because I don't have tough skin but because I don't believe in belittling others just to make you feel better about yourself.
For instance, one gentlemen said great job but he can't fathom the money for such little reward. That right there is a respectable comment. In his eyes the two body style don't differ enough to want to spend that kind of mine. I personally see a huge change in the front ends BUT I can see his point of view as well. He was respectable and raised his point.
Sorry for the big long post, I just highly despise when I see bashing on forums. People tend to think their way is the only way and anyone that doesn't do what they like deserved to be bashed on. I have zero tolerance for that and that's why I posted what I did when I started my original thread.
I agree with you and I commend you for the work you've done on your car. It's nice that you can take your car and make it your own as you see fit.
As for the bashing comments, I agree that people get carried away sometimes. That being said, it's very common to see people post a modification and ask the group for their opinions. When people on the forum don't like the modifications, then the original poster gets upset. I think there needs to be balance. If you ask what people think, then don't get upset if they don't like your ideas!
Dennis, very well said! I absolutely agree. If you ask for someone's thoughts then don't get upset when it's given. As long as the person who is giving the thoughts doesn't go overboard. You don't need to tell the person how you feel by belittling them. Just say, "not my taste". Ok, cool.. gotcha! Different strokes for different folks. No one way is the right way.
Btw, Dennis I LOVE the color on your car (your avatar). Can you post a full picture?
Thanks! I agree. There's nothing wrong with disagreeing with somebody's opinion or taste, but doing so in a respectful manner would make the forums much more pleasant.
I don't want to go too OT in this thread and post photos of a 997, but I'll throw one out there since you asked! The color is Macadamia Brown Metallic, which was launched in 2008.
Dennis, that color looks amazing on that car!!! You keep it in great shape as well. Idc if the thread gets overwhelmed with other people's cars. The thread yea is about the 996 to 997 upgrade but I love to see others rides and modifications. I'm not one to get upset if the thread takes a turn.
For spatula explanation (it's an inside joke and has nothing to do with your car), see post #2927 here:

And, if you are friends with Atrox, you surely cannot be offended that easily.
In general, we don't have haters here. We like to poke fun at each other, and it helps if you can poke fun at yourself. In the very rare instance lately when we've seen someone make rude comments, it's someone coming over from another forum like the 993 forum - not a 996 forum regular contributor.
Dennis lol well I'm ok with it not staying on topic. Actually, I would like if everyone on this thread posted a pic of their cars and mods. I love seeing what people do with the 911's. So anyone that wants to share their cars and mods please post them here.
Kcattorney, I'll have to look into that post to see what that means. I literally sat here scratching my head wondering what it means. I'm all for poking fun. Lord knows I love to crack jokes with people. I just don't like when it becomes beligerant and starts putting people down. There's a line that doesn't need to be crossed.
What's great about rennlist is there is actually a sense of dysfunctional community. Yeah you'll get you're technical stuff answered but you will also get a video of a spatula speaking German. The reality is we own our cars they don't own us and it's nice to have a little humor. That being apparently obvious

I just read the whole meaning behind the spatula. That guy did get a little offended. I don't think anyone was over the top with their replies. The ones on the rocker panel didn't look bad. If you want to run the side ones then I'd use some splitter fins on the front.
Yeah it's a great read, now just get caught up on KK and the Johnny Ireland posts and you will be properly informed. (Wasted some time you'll never get back either)
I think you should also read up on Hurdigurdiman and his niece and WD40 and Cuda with his semi-functional exhaust system/exploding engine case and Jake the Great vs. Martin the Antagonist and Kalashnikov the shirtless Eastern European exile and . . . oh hell, I have to get back to work, but there are a lot more characters on here.
Lol that's too much reading for me. I've never been a big reader. Atrox and everyone else in here should post a pic of your rides. I want to see what everyone else has got done.
It's funny how different things excite different people. I love the way the hood flows with the body. I thinks it's funny how one person can see one view and another a totally different view.
I have fabspeed headers and cats. I was running the fabspeed muffler delete but last year I installed a couple PSE mufflers. I think I'm going to switch back to my muffler delete. I miss that loud tone. I find myself driving at a higher rpm just to get the loud tone out of the PSE mufflers.
Did some time in the coast guard, but no boats. I have a reef tank that I plumbed, wired, and automated.

Started with a standard aquarium, diamond hole saw through bottom of tank, fitted an overflow and large sump underneath. Built the canopy and stand and slowly started growing everything you see there.

Tons more pics, but I'll spare everyone.
It adds up trust me. If I had to guess I've got at lest 3kjust in Corals and fish. Between this and the turbo my wife has this as an official statement: "no more". So modding this car is out of the question at th moment.
Lol I know what you mean. Between my cars, guns, boat and all my house projects I could fund a small town lol. My old lady will most of the time stay out of my hair. She knows it's just who I am. She is basically (she works a few hours a week to get out of the house) a stay at home mom. She knows I work a lot of hours and miss a lot with my family. So, she kinda keeps quiet when it comes to my projects.
Sweet, looks like a new car.
Just don't be struttin so hard that you throw out your back. lol.
Couldn't find the original Ric Flair strut since it was pre-internet in the 80's and back then most peeps didn't know how to work the VCR so this will have to do.
I've designed and maintained fish tanks since I was a kid.
Also, used to work at a public aquarium (Aquarium of Niagara Falls) designing and maintaining the exhibits. Funnest job I ever had.
