guys has this happen to any of the 996 convertible owner who puts on the hard top i just put the hard top on ..the last time i use it was about 2 years ago.. and wow... driving on the road the noise and squeak are so bad u think the car is falling to pieces? i have use the 3M rubber conditioner but still no use.. anyone else with expereicne.. how to fix?? thanks

Yes that happened to me as well. I had a 01-cab with the hard top. I tried just about everything and nothing really helped. The chassis in the 996 convertible are not as stiff as they should be and that is why they make so much noise when you have the hard top installed. I ended up not installing mine anymore because it becomes annoying real fast.

Give your car a chance to adapt to the hardtop. I put mine off yesterday (oh I really forgot how beautiful the car looks open) but when I put it on last November, I had the same experience. Annoying squeezing. However, it went away after some time. I guess the top just needs to settle in.
