Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello rennlisters, I may be selling my 996 Carrera 4 coupe. I bought this from a fellow rennlister about 7 months ago. My main intention was to try a 996, and a 4 wheel drive 911, as I’ve owned many other variants. I also hoped to get my daughters excited about a manual sports car, but that doesn’t seem to be happening. I use it mostly on weekends, but it should really be enjoyed as a daily. It’s a great car, and was pretty much as described by the last owner. Lots of nice mods and upkeep over his 8 year ownership. If you might be interested in such a car, let me know and I’ll shoot you some info. I’d be looking for about $28k which is what I have in it after shipping, registering it in communist California, and doing some interior work, and parts. I have to say for the record, I really enjoy a 4 as much a 2wd variant. I was a bit surprised at that. Car has 109k miles. Shoot me a pm if you’d like to know more... thanks Steve

POST 2Original post

Nice looking interior. The gray and black with red touches is a good combo.

POST 3Original post

Thats a nice car... curious to know some more about it. You'd have no issues selling if you're ready to list.

POST 4Original post

POST 5Original post

I don't understand feeler threads. Either sell it or don't. That said, nice car. It should sell quickly if you decide to list it.

POST 7Original post

Can you tell me about the steering wheel? I'd like to do the same on mine. Thanks.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It’s a stock 993/early 996 steering wheel that was sent out and recovered to a thicker grip and with the centering stripe in red. I’ll see if I can find the vendor info for who did the recover. It’s a really nice wheel that feels much better than stock.

POST 9Original post

Very nice Guards Red Aero car- you don’t see enough of them in my opinion. I think you’ll have no trouble getting your asking price out of the vehicle and I think you may be able to break into the 30s on this example, for the right buyer. Is this a factory aero, a dealer add on or owner add on with oem parts? I ask because I notice the .2 rear decklid? The use of oem parts will absolutely help the resale.

Yes please! More information on the steering wheel would be great. Im not really a fan of the stock wheel.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The aero was done by the previous owner, it’s .1 nose and skirts, and .2 rear spoiler. He much preferred the .2 to the taco wing. I actually think it works really well together. I believe they are all aftermarket, but the fit is really nice. As overdone as guards red is, it’s actually quite rare on the 996 and looks really nice on this car. I’m still looking for the steering wheel vendor.

Totally agree- guards red on the 996 base and aero cars especially, really are unicorns and they look great. Best of luck if you decide to sell!

POST 14Original post

Could you please tell me what type of wheels you are running?

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sure wheels are BC Forged, 8.5x 18 fronts and 11x 18 rears. I’m throwing it up on eBay today to see what type of interest is out there. I’ll put a reasonable reserve. Thanks for the feedback so far.
