Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Spacer (not space) too large? (Sorry for the typo on the headline!) So over the winter I picked up a set of spacers - 7mm front / 14 (might be 15) rear. I put them on with my snow tires / wheels - everything was fine, still sat in a bit too much but the rears for snows are 265 Blizzaks on 18x10's, fine, makes sense. Today I switched out the winters for one of my summer sets. This set of summers is Pirelli PZeros in stock sizes 225 front and 285 rear on 18x10 twists (rear) and 18x8 Twists (front). The PZero is already a fairly wide tire and now in the back the sidewall is actually beyond the fender lip when looking at it straight on. The tread itself is just within the wheelwell. Not quite like a '74 Nova with a rake and superwides but I'm kinda sensitive to it. I was thinking maybe a different set of rear spacers at 10mm might be perfect with these tires? I also have a set of MY02 lightweights shod with Sumitomo HTRZ3's that, while being the same nominal size, are MUCH skinnier than the PZeros. With those wheels/tires it'd probably be fine but truth be told I probably want to be rid of those tires anyway, not a fan. As I'm typing this I am also thinking maybe I switch the 14mm spacers to the front and 7's to the rear - The fronts could stand to come out a bit more and this might make the back work well visually with these tires. Has anyone done this? Wider spacers in the front than the rear I mean? Opinions? Keep in mind currently the 225 even with the 7mm spacer in the front is not flush but in the back with the 14/15mm spacer it sticks a bit too far out. Suspension is stock for now but still considering ROW M030's or else just a set of H&R lowering springs.

POST 2Original post

Lot of people doing 14mm f/7mm rear including myself. Looks more even f/r IMO. Pirelli's do have a wider contact patch than some others but you might not have any issues still as the tires will lean inward more(increase neg camber), the more suspension compresses. I wouldn't jump the gun yet unless you experience rubbing in hard cornering or big bumps. You can even take chalk and mark up the corners of the Pirelli sidewalls and see if any of it rubs off from the fender.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Excellent, thanks, the concept seemed weird initially but no real reason why it would be (weird, that is).

POST 4Original post

I concur. I have P zero's as well. Swapped the 14's to the front and 7's to the back. Looks perfect. A little fender liner rub from time to time but no biggie.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks again, I just swapped them around and the look is perfect (except for the ride height!). Need to go drive it and see if it rubs. Thanks!

POST 6Original post

If you do find it rubs at full lock, you can always take a heat gun and massage a small area in the fender liner and push it slightly in(only need 2-4mm at most usually). This is what the pros do for aggressive setups.
