Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Use clear silicon' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'best mod of all' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Set with binding and logo' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I paid ~$135 for the mats (4 piece set with binding and logo on the 2 front mats) + ~$40 for 3 days shipping + import tax in Sweden

I believe you use the existing screw that is there already.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well - nothing fancy pancy. But I finally got my first 2 mods installed. Start small is what they say.
I got myself some alu gauge rings and new mats (Lloyds).
Next up: smoke or silver 3rd brake light and PSE. I also want to do some alu pieces inside, but I dont like when its "too much" if you know what I mean. Pure black inside is just too boring though.
I do have one problem with the gauge rings. The small ones on the outside snap into place, but the 3 middle ones are hanging loose and fall off. Am I supposed to glue them on, and if so - what kind of glue should I use. Dont want to ruin the car.
And as required - pics
I used this stuff called UHU tac. You rub a small amount in between your fingers to warm it up then apply it. It is removable. It has worked great.
Nice mats. Get the aluminum pedals also.
Thanks guys - I'll try a little silicone too.
And yeah - alu pedals! A must too. Looking at the carnewal ones.
Do you know if one needs to drill holes in the car for the footrest?
I believe you use the existing screw that is there already. I have the Carcrafter snap ons and there great. No drilling at all!!

$249 at Sunset!
M_O_I Nice job, good pics, Thanks for sharing. Are the Lloyds mats the same "foot print" as the Porsche OEM mats? Do they have the velcro disk at the back end like the OEM mats?
@Tim
The mats are the same size as the OEM, but thicker (maybe slightly larger). Really great quality, and the silver binding looks great imho. I also bought the 2 rear mats and that helps too.
They come with 4 hooks (2 each) that keep the mats in place. The hooks are easily attached to the chair rails by pulling off the plastic cover, installing the hooks and putting the cover back. No chance of sliding mats anymore.
I can take a pic of it and post it if you want.
Yup!!!!
Thats why I serve you these:
4 of these fit into the seat rail without any tools. Just pull off the cover, put them in so the screw sits in the hole and keep the piece in place and return the cover.
Then the mats snap in - 2 on each side. Impossible that the mats will swim around
Nice and simple system. So much better than the OEM velcro
I have the Carnewal pedals and they are really nice. For the footrest, I recall you simply put it over the stock footrest and screw it on with two supplied screws; basically the same with the gas pedal. (I installed mine in my 997S but I think 996 is the same). I think Gert also has the clear/smoked side markers.
I put PSE on my former 996, and on my 997S - you will love it! Probably the best mod of all!
@GoodSpeed - no. They are bought in the US through Pelican Parts, but a lot of US shops carry the Lloyd mats. I've tried to track down a european dealer (because everyone says the mats are the best you can buy - and they are classes above OEM). Lloyd finally responded and said that they were not allowed to sell them in the EU because of contracts with Porsche.
So no way around buying online and get it shipped. I paid ~$135 for the mats (4 piece set with binding and logo on the 2 front mats) + ~$40 for 3 days shipping + import tax in Sweden
The PCM disk - I got the scandinavian one from 2000. But its as crap as the 1999. Dont think they updated very much. The bridge isnt even on it. I can send you a copy if you want it anyways.

, but there are lots of other US dealers that have the Lloyd mats. Make sure you specifically ask for the bindings. Lloyds produces them, but not all dealers write it on the website.

Edit:
I bought the Ultimats. They have a heavyweight version too, but I'm not sure I would want that. Ultimats are already very thick - twice the thickness of the OEM mats. With logo and binding it was approx $135 for a 4-piece set
Where did you buy your Llloyd Mats? I love the outer border in Silver, is that something you specified when you ordered or is that the standard? I looked at Performance Products website and the outer border color was not an option?
I got mine at Pelican Parts (link somewhere above).
Almost none of the Lloyd mat sellers have it as an option in their web interfaces, but its a standard thing for Lloyds. So I ordered manually at Pelican without any problems. They will warn you that the silver edge is not the same color as the text (different material), but its damn close. No one will ever notice and it looks damn sweet. Only to be recommended.
