Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

You could dyno the car by disconnecting the drive shafts, but that would be wrong and inaccurate.

I recently brought my 2001 C4 to a local garage for a required e-test (Porsche dealer couldn't take the for 4 weeks)...I think the mechanic may have put the car on a 2 wheel dynamometer or a second (I saw the car jerk forward) before realizing that it was it's a full time AWD ( although I told the service manager!)...Any chance that the power train may have been damaged?

I just bought the car a few weeks ago...so when I read the owner manual this weekend ( after the e-test) I was a little concerned with the dynomater warnings for C4's !!!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently brought my 2001 C4 to a local garage for a required e-test (Porsche dealer couldn't take the for 4 weeks)...I think the mechanic may have put the car on a 2 wheel dynamometer or a second (I saw the car jerk forward) before realizing that it was it's a full time AWD ( although I told the service manager!)...Any chance that the power train may have been damaged? I've driven 500 miles since the test and the car feels as it did before the test? I just bought the car a few weeks ago...so when I read the owner manual this weekend ( after the e-test) I was a little concerned with the dynomater warnings for C4's !!! The mechanic is on holiday for a few weeks, at this point i can't confirm it was actually put on the a two wheel dynamometerseeing the car jerk forward slightly was a little alarming! Is there anyway to tell if the car has been damaged? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

What is your definition of "slightly"? Of course it will move forward a little bit, until the straps truly tighten up. my .02

POST 3Original post

What shop did that!!!! You could dyno the car by disconnecting the drive shafts, but that would be wrong and inaccurate. AWD dyno is what you need to find. If it was a small jerk forward then the dumb look on the mechanic face is the only thing wrong. But it would be hard to spin the rear tires on the rollers and then the fronts... You should be ok.
