It’s been a while but I remember using my long 1/4” ratchet and a mid depth socket to get to a couple.

Get a good feel on another bolt, that can be torqued, and use similar torque feel on that guy.

I'm in the process of replacing my water pump and I'm struggling getting the bolt that is at the 4 o'clock position. I struggled to get it out and finally did but now I cannot get the wrench on it to get it started and installed. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to reach this bolt?

It’s been a while but I remember using my long 1/4” ratchet and a mid depth socket to get to a couple. Maybe another brand socket with a deeper broach.

1/4 ratchet with deep socket or short extension. fits right into that area - can turn from above or from drivers side. lets you use a torque wrench as well.

I had that problem when I did the job a few years ago. Someone here recommended thin wall sockets. I bought some but haven't tried them yet.

Good example of a bolt that realistically cannot be torqued. I�ve done it a couple of times and believe a 1/4� flex head wrench with deep socket works. Get a good feel on another bolt, that can be torqued, and use similar torque feel on that guy. Otherwise, she�ll leak. reread the post�obviously the deep socket won�t help on reinstall. If memory serves, I ground down a 1/4� 10mm socket just for this bolt. Then used the deep socket once I had enough clearance.
