This is not a probability of success.

Interesting a common problem with replacing the clutch on the 996 is that the dealers don't scuff up the flywheel to mate the new disc.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys Just wanted you to know that if some day someone offers you put Spec clucthes is your car, tell them to go to hell, specially if your car is stock. I have a 996 with the stage 2 spec clucth and I am totally dissapointed with the product. Car very difficult to drive during traffic hours and sounds really bad when launching. It is a f****** shame. I drove already 300 miles, and the problems continues. Please feel free to drop any comments. Best Wishes WOT

POST 2Original post

what exactly are the problems? I was thinking about getting one a while back but they didn't make one for my car. Is it a non sprung clutch disc? what about the pp and flywheel?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

SPR The car always trembles when disgaging 1 st gear. To park the car is horrible, because the car also trembles and makes a weird noise. It is really annoying, and would not recommend it to anyone. I did not put the flywheel because I though it would be overkill... I have seen in other forums that people are having problems with spec. BE AWARE! Sweet ride by the way. Best Wishes WOT

POST 4Original post

Interesting a common problem with replacing the clutch on the 996 is that the dealers don't scuff up the flywheel to mate the new disc. If you drive it hard at all within 200 miles it doesn't mate correctly and produces some weird chatter-
