Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

Suggestion

Note, too, that there is a warning light to alert if the spoiler does extend as required and the manual advises to either raise the spoiler manually or "adjust your driving style and reduce speed to the changed aerodynamic condition." This is probably more of an issue in places like Germany and Italy (or on the track) where these cars are routinely driven over 100 mph.

Not sure what you are thinking but if you replace your rear OEM wing with a fixed wing, make sure change the nose at the same time.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there and good day to all!! It's just a question out of curiosity but is there a reason the spoiler lifts up at 74 mph? Would there be any stability issues if it didn't go up at all ie track? Do you think it's more of a benefit at higher speeds then 74 mph? Regards and TIA. Mike

POST 2Original post

According to the literature, the spoiler goes up in order to increase downforce on rear wheels at higher speeds and hence stability. In the 993's the spoiler went up at 55 mph because the car was not as aerodynamically efficient as the 996.

POST 3Original post

Hey Mike, you want the spoiler up at high speeds. The 996 needs the extra downforce at high speeds. Not sure what you are thinking but if you replace your rear OEM wing with a fixed wing, make sure change the nose at the same time. You will need a nose that offers more down force to compensate for the fixed rear wing. If not, your front tires will tend to lift.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well I wondered at what speeds the car will feel unstable if the spoiler didn't go up. Just wondered how older 911's that didn't have fixed/retractable wings were able to go 100 mph + without stability issues. I would love a aerokit on mind but my wife will kill me : (. Mike
