Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
Could anyone provide info on the wholesale value for a
2000 996 C2 coupe with 25K
2001 996 C2 coupe with 20K
2002 996 C2 coupe with 10Kmiles
Assuming little extras?
Im trying to decide how far I can stretch my $$. Im in NO hurry so I can make offers and wait.
I do want to get the car from a dealer or have a dealer certify it. Please correct me if Im wrong but the certification can only get you 2 additional years or 100k miles (in US) and costs $3500. Will the dealer (not a third party) provide an extended warranty beyond the 2 years and for how much?
Is there a manufactures pdf brochure file with the details of each car for each year posted somewhere? I would like to get a complete info on each cars details (no just the major mechanical ones)?
Thanks for the help,
The Analyst
I don't want to guess on wholesale values, but a couple of points:
You might find the new car brochures on ebay or you can go to autotrader and do some research. They list the cars and options that were available.
The Porsche certified warranty is for an additional 2 years/up to 100K miles, which ever comes first. The price the dealer pays Porsche is about $1,575. Most dealers charge this as a pass through, no mark-up. If your dealer is telling you $3,500, they've got a little extra profit built in.
Lastly, if you can afford the '02 go with that model. Lots of changes over the 00-01. In addition, make sure you understand the options on the car. These cars can vary significantly in price due to options - some of which can't be added after. As an example PSM is about a $3K option, but it can't be added after. Along with litronics and heated seats, it was one of my "must have" options.
Don't rush - I spent 4 months looking for the right car.
Hi,
Thank you for the info. My mistake about the dealer's certification (it is $1600). What about an additional warranty? Mercedes will sell an additional to the certification warranty (3 years for $3500). I was wondering if Porsche would do the same.
I have found a 2002 well maintained C2 with 10k miles and a couple of options (COMFORT PKG. ADVANCED TECH. PKG. 18'' ALLOY WHLS) for 56000. But that price is pushing my limit. I was wondering what the wholesale price would be for that car so I can offer it!!!
Thanks for the help
I just traded my 2000 C2 Coupe with 7800 miles in showroom condition. Porsche Dealer gave me $40,000. Galves book is showing $36,000 with a car with 30,000 miles. Let me know if you need any other info, my best friend is a wholesaler and he originally found my car for me 3 years ago.
Thanks for the info bill911
I have told my dealer that I would buy a 2000 C2 with moderate options and less than 20K miles for low 40’s. I’m waiting for their answer
.
It would be very helpful if you could find out what the wholesale value for the 2002 C2 that I mentioned above is.
Thank you

Consumer Rated Condition: Good
"Good" condition means that the vehicle is free of any major defects. This vehicle has a clean title history , the paint, body and interior have only minor (if any) blemishes, and there are no major mechanical problems. There should be little or no rust on this vehicle. The tires match and have substantial tread wear left. A "good" vehicle will need some reconditioning to be sold at retail. Most consumer owned vehicles fall into this category.
Trade-In Value List Your Car For Sale Online $45,425
Trade-in Value is what consumers can expect to receive from a dealer for a trade-in vehicle assuming an accurate appraisal of condition. This value will likely be less than the Private Party Value because the reselling dealer incurs the cost of safety inspections, reconditioning and other costs of doing business.
