Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

21 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

very weird. since ROW M030 went into the car on monday, the car tends to go in circles like these: http://maps.yahoo.com/beta/#mvt=h&ma...7.410664&mag=5 hehe... actually made about 10 runs over the last few days on these roads. trying to get suspension to settle in before i do final allignment. definately love ROW M030 more than stock. the floating feeling of the front is gone. but i do have three questions: 1) what should i do with original suspension? try to sell it? keep it just in case? i hate it when things pile up in my garage 2) i was expecting the car to get lowered more than it did. its already been 3 days - my guess it wont get any lower than it is now 3) hmm.... i am already thinking of PSS9 -- would i be able to sell used ROW M030 for... lets say... 65-75% of the cost?

POST 2Original post

If I recall correctly, most have said it takes a few weeks for the springs to "settle" completely. If you want to move to the PSS9 set up, I would like the first shot at purchasing your ROW M030 equipment . I'll have to check to see if the spring compression rates for your cab would work on my coupe.

POST 3Original post

1. Save it if you have the space. There is NO market for used 4x4 suspension from a stock 996. 2. Be patient. It will settle. Take it to the track and a good weekend of pushing it will expedite the process. Ask me how I know? 3. See #1 and #2 for Tim.....they will NOT work for your coupe.

POST 4Original post

jkb, check out Alpine Dr. Whenever I am down in the Bay Area on business I like to head up that road. Fun drive

POST 5Original post

you can sell the ROW030 to me. i have a cab and i'm local. :0

POST 6Original post

With my car, the rear springs never settled anymore after they were installed. The fronts on the other hand settled a lot over the next week. My ride was pretty punishing for a while. The rear end stiffens up considerably with this suspension. My rear shocks started really stiff. After 3 months, they have softened considerably and now the ride is pretty reasonable. As far as driving in circles, you do need an alignment. I would wait at least a week before having it done so the car can settle first.

POST 7Original post

I hope you measured before so you have a baseline to compare with. My drop was about 16-18mm in the rear and about 22-25mm in the front. Woulld I have liked a bit more? Yes. But at what cost. I already scrape BAD and the distance from the front cup lip to the ground on my car is about 5 inches which ain't much!

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i am an idiot and didn't measure before the swap. i was hoping the drop would be something i can really tell. i mean, i can tell the car is lower, just not as much as i'd like to see it.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

give me a couple of weeks to see if suspension settles in and i am happy with it. if not, will do a deal

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks. i'll wait well, not only have i driven in circles (did anybody click on that maps link?), but i also driven a lot over speed bumps and railroad tracks. i think my suspension is pretty settled at this point for an alignment (will do it friday afternoon). plus, i can always get one done 2-3 months from now too

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

sounds familiar... what city is it in so i can located it on the map?

POST 13Original post

Nice one Jan... but make sure you go to Santana row this weekend..LOL 8am ok? haha

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i been there a couple of times already. i really dont see the point. you seen one 360 (or 430 or gallardo or ...) - you seen them all. if they did drives, i would totally do it. watching 430 sitting on the parking lot is boring. driving next to it on a freeway is not. i told my friend (who tracks his new M3 a LOT) about SR meet and his answer was: "why? so you can see all the rich people standing there watching people drooling over their cars? they should be on the track!!!" plus, it gets too hot early. even at 10am. and there is little chance i'll make it out there before 10am - friend's birthday friday night.

POST 15Original post

Oops, got it confused. You take PageMillRd ( http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...,0.144882&om=1 ) up to Highway 35, then you take Alpine Rd to La Honda which takes you to the 1. Its an insane drive. Very narrow roads and TONS of switchbacks! Hopefully that google map will help. Man I am all giddy just thinking about those roads

POST 16Original post

Also try Woodside road in Redwood City... take it all the way from the 101 to Hwy1. Or go thru Downtown Saratoga and out the otherside... it winds all the way up to Skyline and Skyline is a blast too. More patrols though i think. I used to do these at night (2am) in the NSX with the top down... just awesome... no-one else on the road the whole way to the Ocean

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

are you kidding me? i am too busy driving the darn thing i do have pre-ROWM30 pics however: http://photos.jkb.org/v/cars/911

POST 20Original post

Hey, how does it feel after a week of driving the ROW030? I am thinking of doing the same on my "01 996. I would like to get rid of the floaty feeling but keep most of the real world driveability. It will not be a track car. And I don't want the slammed-down look either. That C4s above looks awesome, though. Please comment. Thanks

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
