Suggestion
Now, I cannot understand why you would disassemble the entire front strut towers, replace the blown strut with old ones while yours are being rebuilt.

I've got a blown front strut, and the front feels a bit "loose," so I'm replacing both struts, and wanted to know what else exactly should I be replacing while I'm in there?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Upper strut mounts, strut bearings, support rings, bump stops, dust boots, anything else?
Is there a place that sells a convenient kit at a good value?
Here's what I put together from ECS tuning:
Do the support rings really wear out? Do I need more or double of anything on a single side? Are there any one-time use bolts or nuts?
I also found this kit that comes with a few more pieces:

...but it's in the UK.
Car is a '99 C2 with 97k miles. Thanks!

Bump rubber: More than likely...they live in a harsh environment and they're very important. Dust Cover: Possible. They're inexpensive. The other stuff, probably not. Strut mount maybe if they car is high miles.
Thanks for the advice.
I'm putting in used Boxster shocks.
It's actually somewhat of a temporary measure while I get the Bilsteins rebuilt (or figure something else out). I heard it takes a while and I'd rather not have the car down for so long.
I can get it down to $174.53 after you enter RENNLIST in the coupon code section at checkout to get 10% off and with free shipping.
Couple of the parts are genuine Porsche too.

I second what Jason said so I don't think you need everything on the list above, of course unless the part is obviously worn or broken.
You should be able to tell once you take the shocks apart.
When I replaced both of my front shocks those are the parts I replaced with new. Here is another list of front suspension parts
http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg1.htm#item0
I also replaced both outer tie rods since I figured they would be worn (they were). Also, (if you trust your current alignment) carefully mark the locations of the top strut mount before removing. Otherwise you will need an full alignment after replacement. You also need to remember to preload the suspension before tightening the inner lower control arm bolts. Look carefully and you will see the markings on the control arm bolts. Now, I cannot understand why you would disassemble the entire front strut towers, replace the blown strut with old ones while yours are being rebuilt. Why not just put in new struts to begin with? That's a lot of work. You can get new Bilsteins, either OE or B6/B8 from almost any auto parts store.
