Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have an addiction for buying tools/toys and another visit to ebay to buy a tool that I'd use once is yet another enabling event for my wife to bug me about.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

RGrove, thanks for assist. Let me know if what you have works for my stock 02' C2. I'll get it back with a 6 pack for your troubles. I was hoping for some local help help on this but any help is appreciated.

POST 5Original post

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

PMs sent! You midwest guys rock!

POST 7Original post

I'm not sure you're aware but this is a $5 tool you can buy from the dealer. I figured it cost you at least that amount for return postage.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

alpine003, thanks for the heads up. Pelican and Suncoast report that the tool for the 996 shifter is no longer available. I have an addiction for buying tools/toys and another visit to ebay to buy a tool that I'd use once is yet another enabling event for my wife to bug me about. So I was reaching out to this community to see if I can borrow the $5 tool for a bit to do the adjustment and return it with a 6 of beer for the trouble. I've done this with others on different forums that I'm on; like the 2-stroke motorcycle community and such. Thanks again for the heads up.

POST 10Original post

Found it! P/N on it is 997.424.383.01. My understanding is that its interchangeable for the 996. Let me know if you want to borrow it.

RGrove, thanks! I got it done and it's just been dropped at the post office to be shipped to you. The guy said it should be there in a few days. I appreciate your help with this. I couldn't fit a 6 of Pipeworks or Old Style in the box but there is something in there for your help. Thanks again.
