OP, don't condemn the clutch switch just yet as your problem is intermittent.
Leading evidence: 'intermittent' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'intermittent' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check but i would say solenoid would be my next' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Yea, you replaced all the usual suspects already and still no dice.

Yesterday I didn't get a chance to work on the clutch switch but this morning the car didn't want to start again, luckily I was park on a hill so I manage to coast and pop the clutch and the car ran with no issues.

Suggestion
Obviously the clutch switch is easy to check but I would say solenoid would be my next check.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Ok guys i'm seeking help once again..... i'm having trouble starting the 911 Here is the type of car and scenario.
The car is a 2004 911 40AE
It doesn't matter what time of the day or night this happens.
I get in the car, I put the key in the ignition, I turn the key like if I was to start the car, all the lights come on but the engine doesn't turn. In the beginning it was random then it would be several seconds and the car will finally start, but now it wont crank at all. I can keep the key in the on position and several minutes can go by and all of the sudden the car will start. but not any more. has anyone experience this before and if so how did you fix it.
Thank you
It can be many things and since you seem like someone who doesn't like to trouble shoot, I suggest you take it to a trusted indy mechanic. I do not know of one near you (because I haven't been there) but I do know one in Charlotte if you need one.
+1 Very common problem. Very easy fix to DIY. Very inexpensive. Part is in stock at your local NAPA for $12. Search and you will find multiple threads on this. Learn how to fix it yourself because it will probably happen again (I had to change mine twice on my '99 C4 and only had that car 2 years).
When you buy the ignition switch, do yourself a favor and buy an extra one and keep it in the glove box along with the little flat screwdriver tip you'll need to do the job (the only tool you need). That way if this happens again, you'll know how to fix it, will have the part and the tool. The first time I did it took me about an hour. The second time took me 19 minutes start to finish. By doing it myself, it got me out of a jam that would have been a major headache if I needed to rely on my indy to fix it.
Awesome thank you all for the fast response I ordered the Ignition and the ignition relay just incase. it should be here in about a week so ill post some results if anyone have anything to add im all ears.
thank you all again
Go here to your local NAPA store at 318 E. Bodenhamer Street:
http://www.napaonline.com/nc/kernersville/genuine-parts
Walk to the counter and ask for this:
http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...849_0295650368
They have it in stock, price $23.40. You won't have to wait a week to get it in, and you can use the one you ordered online as the spare for the glovebox.
While you are there, buy a standard screwdriver tip like the one on the bottom row, far left of this pic:
When you are done installing the NAPA switch, put the screwdriver tip in the box of the switch that will arrive in the mail next week and put it in the glovebox. My 2 cents worth.
Sorry to pimp NAPA over one of our sponsors: warehouse33auto.com
NAPA has the cheap part that isn't as good as the ones that warehouse33.com sells for just a few dollars more (ask me how I know). The only advantage to the NAPA one is that it is in stock in your neighborhood store for pickup today in case you are stranded.
It would probably take Jason all of about 48 hours to get you the part - at least I always get my stuff within 2 days whenever I order from warehouse33auto.com. Have just placed 3 orders with Jason in the past 3 weeks and am always very happy with the service and the parts.
That is a great write-up because 1) it doesn't tell you to remove the side panel of the dash (removing that panel is unnecessary but is shown in some of the DIYs); 2) has good pictures and 3) has the part numbers with both the old part and the newer (2004) part. I think the part number I listed above is the correct one for the 2004 model year based on both the picture and that I specifically searched for the 2004 model year.
Also concur with fpb and Ahsai to jump the clutch switch first, which is also quick and easy to confirm/eliminate as the culprit.

I'm really surprised that no one mentioned the common thing on most cars with this scenario, the starter or starter solenoid. I guess peeps are so wrapped up in Porsche specific issues here. Obviously the clutch switch is easy to check but I would say solenoid would be my next check.
alp - Good point. It may well be one of those plain old breakdowns. No offense to Medevack, but I think that eliminating both the clutch switch and the ignition switch could have been done in well under 2 hours and a six pack of beer. Then, once those quick, cheap, easy & common culprits are out of the way (neither of which even require the hood to be opened to resolve), then you dig into the engine bay.
Other things to check: Ground strap to battery. Engine ground strap (just behind right rear wheel).
Actually I thought they were two people haha
OP, don't condemn the clutch switch just yet as your problem is intermittent. Just keep the paper clip handy somewhere and try it again next time it won't start.
Ha.....just can't seem to break away. I have done all I can to get it running but electric issues are over my head. It goes to the Indy over the weekend.
