Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2006 C4S...sometimes I get a clicking sound when I turn the key. It always starts after once or twice. Local Porsche garage can find nothing. Any ideas?

POST 2Original post

this may be a long shot. if it's like the 997, there is a connection on the passenger side. a wire from the battery goes to it. it gets corroded. if I recall correctly, you get to it under or behind the glove box. OR I read this: I have determined that the problem is at battery to power distributor. When I shake the + cable near this connection the car starts right up. I want to disconnect the battery + cable from the power distributor bolt and remove and oxidation. Hoping this would be enough to fix the issue. I am not technically gifted so to remove the bolt and install a new one would mean a trip to my Indy here: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-forum/1 ... ouble.html

POST 3Original post

I believe we installed an updated connector that solved the problem. I also replaced the ignition switch and by-passed the cut off switch at the clutch.
