I ran 18" Fuchs on a 996 Turbo for a while and they do suit the later shape.

Get spacers to stance it properly and set the ride height properly.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So here's a pic of my Carrera S that turns up this week. I can't decide if I like the crab claw wheels or not. Any suggestions for what wheels look good on a 997 both aftermarket or factory. Thinking I might pull the wheels off while they are new and store them.
What do you guys think of the factory wheels ?

I like the silver wheels on black cars also ,,,like you said to much black looks too heavy .............just go through google images and see what you find appealing ...........and welcome to the color black it is a hobby just to keep it looking pristine ..........
Go the Fuchs. Have a crack at silver petals with silver centre caps.
I know its been done before but its a good look.
I ran 18" Fuchs on a 996 Turbo for a while and they do suit the later shape.
Call me crazy but I also think the crab claws look good ....
Fuchs > 16" make baby Jesus cry.
BBS LM in gold, or another silver OEM wheel. Get spacers to stance it properly and set the ride height properly. The right stance will forgive a bad wheel and even a bad shape. Example, there is an 80s Toyota Cressida near me that is stanced perfectly and there is something very right about it.
Wheel dynamics in the US make some awesome wheels if you're set on a new look.
Wheels are great because you can always switch back if you hold onto them.
Suspension is a little harder and not always a DIY option for some.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll consider the BBS CHR.
I'll say no to turbo wheels, I don't want to copy another model.
It seems there is plenty of love for the claws however I'll reserve judgment till Friday when she is delivered.
I have a set of 20" OZ racing Ultraleggera with tyres if your interested
20x9 front 20x12 rear theyre finished in Graphite silver

For some reason I really love the lobster claws on a 986. I think its the correlation between the missing parts on the wheel and the missing roof on the car.
+1 for the factory lobsters!
I also like the idea of black lobsters that can look good on the right colour 997. Makes the P crest wheel caps standout too

My vote is with the lobsters mate. I know what its like waiting for a car and spending money on projects before you get it. Don't stress because there're plenty of ways to spend money later on down the track!
Resurrecting an old thread...anyone know of a BBS stockist in VIC? I'm considering CH-R's for my 997.2 S but not keen on the 6 month lead time quoted by Tyrepower...
I have CH-R's on my 996.2 and you will have to wait to get them. No one in Oz carries them in stock from my experience.
I used AMG Wheels in Sydney to get mine.
