Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Totally agree Kingstonc5 - pics and GT-related light-banter/chat only.
My first GT - 7.2 CS, ceramics, lift etc. Not many cars put a smile on your face like a 3 does. Still regret selling it. It's only
after
selling it you realise just how special these are. Best car i've ever owned. Hope to have another, soon

Ooh, ooh! Nice.
Has yours gone the J? How's the bull going?
I wonder if that guards MK1 CS is on here or if it's another from somewhere. There were about 5 on here which must be nearly all of the guards red ones.

I believe my GT3 is in new ownership, but still around these parts.
The Lambo is something of a beast, but great fun.
I think the CS owner is around here somewhere, but I don't know his username (I'm useless at doing the embarrassing "so are you on PH and what's your username?" conversation).
Excellent. For all I'm a 911 man, you can't beat the Lambos and Ferraris for noise and theatre.
I'll have a read of that feature if I come across it. Rarely buy the mags anymore.

lol - a quick look up and yes, back in 2010.
In my defence back then I used to move quite a lot of 944/68 wheels as a side hustle, so 'probably' was about right

Isn't it just. Congrats Digga, it must feel supersonic after your old car.
Most noticeable thing is extra torque. Really pulls from even low revs. It’s on Manthey track settings, so doesn’t quite have the road manners of my old car on the Ohlins. Hopefully it’s a compromise that pays off on track.

Thanks mate.
It's got full (as far as possible without Manthey bits) track suspension geometry, so on the crap local A and B roads, it's like trying to drive a hyperactive spaniel. I'm so looking forward to some track days next year.

Yes, I think carbon mirrors were one of the few extras on this car.
Might put Manthey Laws on eventually, but want to learn car with the stock kit first. Exhaust seems loud enough already.

In many ways - and I say this having reluctantly sold my 997.1 GT3 to buy the current RS - the 997 GT3/RS generation is peak. There's something so mechanically rowdy about the Mezger on full-chat. You don't get as much of that feel on road, but on a track, it just sounds so deliciously savage.
I've driven the 997.2 3.8 GT3 RS and also been pax at Silverstone in a 997.2 4.0 GT3 RS and they all do feel slightly different and have their own character, but the core 'feel' is the same. Brilliant.

Having seen first hand the quality of the factory refurbs in porsche classic restoration shop on the cgt, superb craftsmanship.Im sure if the owner gets bored with the interior,he would just fly it back to stuttgart for another refit,The expenditure on these refurbs is eye watering.

As good as the quality is, I've seen it first hand at classic several times once with Yellow, it looks utter gash.
Lot's of classy hues being done, many much less so.
I prefer the well weathered look of my old banger TBH, wears the battle scars with price.

They are. I had a set made up for a mate, all the templates are available along with the machine program to produce the Porsche crest. They weren't cheap, but they looked stunning compared with the old items, because as the material ages it turns from black to a purpely brown (and despite everyone saying it is, the material isn't Nomex apparently)

Transport Down to the LM Classic , always a fun filled trip and the competition wheels when there ,to enjoy the Race
As we’ve discussed…you’ve lived an experience with this car that a handful of people in the ENTIRE HISTORY of this planet will get to ever get to share - can be proud of that and look forward to new adventures.
Well... have to say 10 years ago I'd never have thought I'd be saying this ever but... as the saying goes, never say never and 10 years is just 2 words but it's also a long time and a lot changes....
Here's one for the 'past' now and I'm going to slightly spam the thread with pictures of an old boxster, hopefully no one will mind.... the tldr for those who can't be bothered is - great car, superlative gearbox, annoying clutch. gets too much attention in the past few years
As some of you here might know already, I've cracked and had my head turned for various reasons. I could, I suppose self justify as to the why but ultimately, I couldn't really say no and equally, I suppose I couldn't have asked for much more. Many great memories from fulfilling a couple of dreams that I never ever thought I'd be lucky enough to. I suppose the slight regret, such as one can have any, is not putting more miles down but again, i can't complain tbh - just a couple of pictures over the past decade and a bit so a small snapshot down the memory lane... special shout out to thank lasource here who was kind enough to take some pictures over the years and allowing himself to get browbeaten into mucking around with the car a few times at Silverstone (even on old tyres
) and also slippydiff who was very helpful for pointing me to the right people to get my Surface Transforms project completed. A couple of others who were unfortunate enough to know me might have been taken for a (slow) lap around by myself so I can only hope i did the car justice. One funny thing I'd always remmeber is digga asking me if the car had autoblip the first time he was in the car....!
somewhere in mid-wales which i used to trek to attempt to find some decent driving...
as good as it was on the road though, one really kind of
has
to drive something like this on track to really get a sense for it's capabilities...
this is still one of the pics i really like as taken by someone from here... he had a good eye for the cloud pattern...
and somewhere in europe i think between Spa and the ring, quite happy to have got the backlighting quite right....
don't suppose this is likely to be seen at Silverstone anytime soon with 2 mad enough people there with a pts car.
and with it's usual companion when i somehow (don't remember how! getting old i think....) got them together on the same day another time. a PH'er had a go in the car on the same day and has a video of it floating about his channel i believe - it was... a rather surprising amount quicker than the rs, albeit with shiny new cup2s that i tacked on long before the N0 Cup2s got released 2 years ago per recommendation from 993rsr here...
and a final one before the whole mess of the suspension recall that effectively frozen out usage for close to 2 years...
so these were installed long before I was actually able to drive the thing again! squeaky as all KWs are but the v5 jobs were so good.....
plus I was always concerned the damed OE sachs dampers would start leaking sooner than later
still...all good things come to an end I suppose. memories apart, at least I still have a box full of paperweights having done the same gearbox upgrade offered by HÖR while the car was KO'd by the recall...
and that's it for my time with a really awesome bit of kit i guess....

Nice Boxster
In the end, they all become memories and pictures on the downstairs bog wall. Not quite as poetic as the scene in blade runner I’ll grant you.
What memories though!

Memories for life from this road trip.
Best convoy ever. Ben’s viper green 991.1 GT3 RS running as sweeper meant you could always see if the group was together.
Better to have loved and lost and all that.
Tricky with such a unicorn colour, with the way prices are going at some point not to say no - I get that.
You have the memories and experiences that very, very few people will ever savor with such a fabulous machine - enjoying it's performance to the max.
We agree, it's somewhat sad that the value is the key talking point regarding CGT's, and the way values have headed.

Definitely. The one regret he doesn’t have is never having driven and enjoyed the car; as evidenced by pictures of the road trips and track days.

Well... have to say 10 years ago I'd never have thought I'd be saying this ever but... as the saying goes, never say never and 10 years is just 2 words but it's also a long time and a lot changes....

Valuable steak and Bitburger time wasted on some of those. Myself and TDT notable by absence. Dinner time is sacred.

Too much steak adds weight penalty on the Nordschleife!

Phwoar, also didn't think there was enough money in that for a full nuts and bolts rebuild. Any idea what Porsche ask for such an instruction?
It depends, the Classic Department will do a paint and retrim starting at around €700,000 right the way through to a full rebuild mechanically with the odometer set to zero. They had 18 Carrera GT's in programme when I was there last month. Two were finished ready for delivery, the quality is as you would expect, off the charts.

The prices state side have risen very dramatically. I suspect the purple car would be 8 figures. The odometer is mileage accumulated since the car was rebuilt at Classic.

Thanks for the insight. Yes, been tracking prices and they've really taken off over there of late. An agent friend of mine deals with aircraft and over a recent drink, was surprised to learn how owners will be expected to overhaul the airframe before it moves on at substantial cost. To think there are now some parallels is interesting.
