Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello from Montreal,
i am the owner of a 2001 C2 convert. and I am looking to purchase a new interior from a 2002 or 2004.. My car has no glove compartment and the "interior" i am looking to purchase has a dashboard with glove compartment....
My question is will the new dashboard with glove compartment fit my car ?
if yes do i need to change anything behind it ? Metal hinges or other ?
also just curious to your opinion's:
What do you think of a dark blue interior with silver trim and a black exterior with black roof ?
regards
and thank you.

Hello AT, welcome to the board...
no idea about a dash swap but I think it might not just be a "plug and play" swap (some of the race/spec car guys might know for sure)
How about a couple shot of the car for us
again, welcome and best regards on your venture
Wow, That seems like quite allot of work for a crappy glovebox... just saying
Only thing I even keep in mine are the manuals and my iPOD docks there.
Welcome to Rennlist!
well I have a glovebox now... and the kids put some game thing in there and nearly caused me to spin the car when it distracted me... oh wait... nevermind
I spun it anyhow
Damn glovebox !!
+1
Welcome.
The glove box in the 2002+ 996 isn't exactly great, like Marc said. Mine's the same way - I keep my owner's manual, my iPod plug and my insurance card in there... I also keep my sun glasses there. That pretty well fills it up!
Thank you for the responses.. i want to do the switch because i do not like the savanah beige/tan interior..
i don't care much for the glove box.. but i can get a blue interior for 2500$ but it is newer (hence the glove box that is now included)..
do you think a blue with stainless interior would look good on a black convertible ?
right now everyone here in montreal says to go black and not get the blue ..
regards
and thanks again
Andrew ( will take pictures ).
welcome and congrats on your "new" Pcar! I say go for the 02-04 glove box conversion; shows initiative. I pondered the same issue with my 00. It would be nice to have a little more storage, even tho the armrest cubbies provide plenty and they don't get much use.
As for accenting the the interior, I have done the same with Black and Blue interior pieces as well as some of the aluminum accents the car came with and adding a few other bits.
Black exterior with black roof? don't know what you mean there( thanks for the pics, btw), but a black exterior with dark blue interior is ok, though if you consider doing a (dark) gray or black interior, silver may go better with that scheme overall....
..since you have a savannah interior, I would definitely change it out if it's not what you're into....plus plenty of members here would gladly take some of your "beige" interior pieces off your hands...
Wheels, what kind of wheels does the car have now? Silver, black, graphite?? I'm having a real hard time seeing the pics.....
dont hack up your car (that will even further reduce its value).... if you dont like the interior, get something that you do like. The market for these cars are pretty much settled.... As for the glovebox, you have 3 compartments, isnt that enough.
and i would not put a blue iin with savanna... maybe black but not blue :ewe:
how about a pic...
you know, swapping seats and floor mats goes a long way to easing the savanna mustard overages
personally I thing balck with savanna is a nice color package (see sig)
Thank you for your suggestions
plan A : will be to go full blue and black with silver trim ( this will cost me approx 2500 in parts plus 500 in taxes with shipping costs and 500 for install ).
Plan B : get some black parts and mix and match as per your suggestions.
The steering wheel i got
