Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone else having this issue when bringing roof back up

POST 2Original post

Either the cable or the rivet that clamps the cable have broken. Most likely the rivet. If you're ok with the spanners it's an easy fix.

POST 3Original post

Here, read this DIY on fixing it: Thread 'Convertible Soft-Top broken and fix with pics' 25 May 2015 A couple of days ago I noticed my soft-top wasn't closing properly on the passenger side above the windows so today I thought I'd have a go at sorting it out. See here the problem where the trim along the edge isn't sitting correctly in the side tracks After having a play around with the roof half open and a few internet searches it looked like something was wrong with the left... POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Excellent managed to have a little look between rain showers,it appears that there is too much tension on the elastic that runs accross the roof left to right...so am i looking at this rivit snapped issue somewhere not holding the elastic etc and allowing it to basically over tension and pull both left and right sides together instead of allowing the roof edge to drop nicely into the groove?

POST 5Original post

The elastic is supposed to be like that. It's 100% the cable or rivet.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Managed to dodge the showers this morning and yep found the rivet snapped thanks Team couldn’t have done it without you easy fix…happy now

POST 7Original post

All you need to do now is clean that roof.... or kill whatever is walking all over it
