Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, problem with the soft top on a 1999 Boxter (original not facelift), Handbrake and it's warning light are on. Unlatch, and windows drop (so that microswitch is OK) Hood starts to go down, but stops after a few seconds. Will not then go up or down. 'Fixed' as in closed, by shorting the contacts at the control module in the fuse box. Motors etc all, fine, as the shorting the wires will fully raise and fully lower the soft top. I've had the header/ latch mechanism and microswitches to pieces and they seem to operating as they should. Any thoughts?

POST 2Original post

Very similar to my current problem, did you ever isolate the issue?

POST 3Original post
