Changed coil packs to 997 ones new plugs. Cel gone, and never had a cel or bad running since.

Suggestion
so although it acts as a slight misfire I wasn’t looking along that route on the strength of the diagnostic data indicating p1328-faulty vario cam solenoid on bank #1, I’ve checked wiring and plug to it and the two loom multi plugs all seems ok and solenoid does actually move and click with diagnostic active test ??

I’m talking with Marc Clowes at 9M about a few things so im going to do some preventative work and change all 4 solenoids on both banks plus some other work like the AOS as it maybe failing.

When it happens there is no difference in performance, I just reset the CEL and all is well until the next time.

It is a Variocam Solenoid fault on bank 1. It could be the solenoid or the wiring. My money would be on the solenoid, as it is a reasonably common problem. You often get a really rough idle when it happens, but if it is intermittent then that might explain why you don't notice a difference in performance. There are a few checks you can make with a multimeter, so if you plan to DIY then drop me a PM with your email address and I'll send you the diagnostic sheet.

It was back in October so I can’t remember the code. But it was for the variocam solenoid. But my indy had a feeling it wasn’t. Changed coil packs to 997 ones new plugs. Cel gone, and never had a cel or bad running since. Might be worth seeing if your coil packs are cracked /old
Thanks for your reply, it had new plugs and coil packs last year so I’m hoping they are still working ok, he doesn’t use it from one mot to the next if I’m honest
