Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

First time we tried to use a can in our 987 (on the way back from Sydney to Tas after we had taken delivery of it) it was useless, as, having been travelling at highway speeds, by the time we detected a puncture and stopped, we'd wrecked the side wall, and the sealant was useless.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What is everyone doing for puncture repairs when out on the road , away from tyre shops? Is it a can of compressed air and sealant ? Anyone recommend a brand?

POST 2Original post

First time we tried to use a can in our 987 (on the way back from Sydney to Tas after we had taken delivery of it) it was useless, as, having been travelling at highway speeds, by the time we detected a puncture and stopped, we'd wrecked the side wall, and the sealant was useless. It would be fine if you detected a flat tyre in the garage from a nail or something, but not at highway speeds.  Does make a TPMS seem a good bit of kit........

POST 3Original post

Yeh I had a problem with a 10mm bolt into a 911 305 tyre, Saturday afternoon on the otherside of the mountains from Sydney. There was  noway that useless  glue was going to stay in there, so $1500 later new tyre and flat bed truck back home. Subsequently I bought a 996 compact spare to take on road trips. Road Hero is a company in the UK that supplies spare wheels with a Porsche listing ( Australian Agent doesn’t) wheels come with jack, brace, nuts or bolts if necessary and carry bag. I bought one for my wifes BMW, well worth the investment.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Michelin do one for $40 gotta  be worth taking a chance on, rather than a flatbed from woop woop
