Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Greetings everyone! I'm excited to share a recent project I've undertaken: redesigning and engineering a carbon fiber alternator fan body and 12-blade fan setup for air-cooled engines. With my background in composite design and engineering for automotive and aerospace applications, I eagerly accepted this challenge… I've developed a mathematically accurate redesign of the alternator fan body and fan specifically tailored for 1965-1989 Porsche 911 models. Utilizing advanced 3D scanning techniques alongside traditional high-accuracy measuring tools, I accurately replicated the alternator 's fan body and 12-blade fan. These replicas feature visual enhancements and added geometry for improved structural integrity. The redesigned fan body boasts enhanced geometry to bolster structural integrity and reduce weight and rotational mass. By optimizing the design, we minimize component movement during temperature fluctuations, thereby mitigating the risk of contact with the alternator fan body under high-stress driving conditions at elevated temperatures. Our next step involves testing the fit of 3D-printed prototypes on a 1975 Porsche 911 to ensure seamless integration and functionality. Once validated, we'll proceed with mold development for carbon fiber production. Stay tuned as I continue the road to functional carbon fiber air cooled components! And yes, the fan blade will be balanced…
