Sent email to the eBay company they responded and asked me too check my order details…done all that but no response since …it’s a German company so this ain’t an easy fix

Hey Everyone....having settled into 996 ownership and had chance too look around her and look at ways to improve my 996 i am thinking of replacing the standard 'Tail plipes'...
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey Everyone....having settled into 996 ownership and had chance too look around her and look at ways to improve my 996 i am thinking of replacing the standard 'Tail plipes'...
found some on ebay has anyone got these or considered these ? they are slighty larger than standard and will fill the cut out better..c
No worries, all in it took me a couple of hours to fit properly including removing and refitting the bumper.... obligatory cleaning took place of the silencers and heat shields obviously. Luckily my tailpipe clamps were in good order and st/steel so easy fit....... Top tip, rotate the clamps so the bolts face down and don't tighten fully until bumper is on as you will need some micro-adjustments to get them symmetrical.
Oh exciting update.....had a wonder underneath the car today only to discover a nice pair of 'Dansk Sports' silencers fitted...ooooh result...just need too get these new tailpipes and clamps ordered up now..

Find a used set of Tequipment EP4110 tailpipes. They were the factory original optional large oval tips and are the best look IMO.
Took me 6 months to find a used set but they do come up, Porsche quoted me £792 for a new set - madness!
Either the Ebay or the Tequipment tips will fill the rear bumper cutouts nicely - I always thought it strange that the standard tips are so much smaller than the cutouts
I spoke with a guy who has both the Ebay and Tequipment, he said the Tequipment was slightly bigger. I'd only go second hand as you're right about the P tax! Either option is better the original pea-shooters!
Just make sure you fit them the right way round...........not like this..........

Clamps ordered up ebay £20 for two....plan is to do the rubbish bit remove the old 'tailpipes' and clamps..clean up the standard pipes for ebay...put them back on with new clamps whilst i wait for new ones to arrive..theres some really expensive ones out there...the expensive ones seem too have 'rolled' edges but i can't see me spending extra for that.going to order the ones up from ebay like Skoosh1970's i update on progress might try it without removing rear bumper....or is that a daft option as the clamps are tucked up proper and they will defo snap and i want to fully clean up the firring surface once removed.
Cheers Guys...
Tail pipes ordered clamps on route two stage job i think to make it easier.....remove rear bumper cut off clamps clean up old 'Tail pipes' and fit new clamps....then wait for delivery then final fitment....
I've had those same tips from Germany on my car ever since I retrofitted PSE back in maybe 2019. They have been good. They fit well and no corrosion or other issues. It could be me, but I think they also make the exhaust note a bit more raspy? I kept my original tips as well because like someone already mentioned, they're quite dear if bought second hand.
They do make a difference to the exhaust note indeed... quote a lot more raspy probably due to echo as the from the tailpipe with it having a larger diameter...?
That's interesting - I hadn't considered any potential impact on sound. Getting my tips fitted by PCW later this month as the standard tips on the car have the gundo hack connecting into them.
Afternoon 996 folk....Update on the 'Tailpipe Project' for Eddie...having not yet received the new 'parts' i thought i would do the 'Hard Yards' of the project today..up from nights free afternoon no wife shes away...so dived in..plan was to cut off old clamps clean up all mating faces and apply anti sieze compound.cut the old clamps off cleaned up and refitted standard boring 'tail pipes' to be honest these are in very good condition i will chuck them on ebay when i eventually swap them over.
whilst i was at it i greased all bumper fixings and fixed up both the heatshields that where loose and rattling about so on the whole a decent couple of hours....hoping when new parts arrive i can swap them out without having to take bumper off knowijng now the clamps are brand new and everything is free...and unsiezed.wouldn't it be funny if the parts turned up today having just rebuilt him.
Nice one DHL
…Happy Tail pipes Monday everyone…these babies arrived today hoping the weather is good after Wednesday when I finish work..glad I did the hard bit other week stripped old clamps off should make fitting these much more pleasant might even not have too remove bumper again
You can get them brand new off Gert at Carnewal for £120 more.
It's a lot of money for a pair of tailpipes, but there are very few aftermarket products that are made as well, fit as well, and "look" right on a 996.1.
I had them on the first 996.1 GT3 I bought, they definitely make the exhaust sound noisier (in a good way)
I had the 993 equivalent on my 993 RS and they sounded superb too.
Uuuum well there’s a problem here take a look at the difference between the NS and the OS in relation to the protrusion past the bumper
wondering if the os exhaust can be loosened and adjusted at all ….
A picture of each from directly underneath would make deciding easier, but I'd say your rear bumper possibly isn't mounted squarely (n/s sticking out, or o/s pushed in) either that or your rear light clusters aren't mounted properly.
From memory, there are two steel brackets that drop down from the rear crash bar and provide two of the lower mounting bumper points, are they present, and not bent, nor corroded ?
Of course, I've just remembered you've got Dansk silencers and aftermarket "big ovals".
All bets are off and you're on your own
Skoosh, help this man out !!
Brilliant, if you read what I posted yesterday, you can get them off Carnewal for £80 less than you've quoted.
But irrespective, that's not really going to help the OP.
Yeah something ain't right OP, mine are the same as yours I think and are symmetrical...what back boxes have you got fitted..? Nice rear decal by the way
Yeah decal of course
thinking it could be bumper positioning rather than exhaust mounting it’s got DANSK Sport rear silencers on …will have a shuffle about with bumper tomorrow
I just don't see how the bumper could be misaligned as you'd notice it surely with all the arch meeting points....? It's got to be the tips......hope you get it sorted.
Possibly not the bumper where it meets the rear quarters, but the rear of it at the bottom. Hence the question to the OP as to whether the two braces for the bottom rear mounting points are in place :
