I replaced the 4 channel amp in the frunk of my base 01 986 with the 6 channel amp. Now I need to run new wires from the amp to the new speakers I installed in the rear storage box. Anyone have a guide? Not sure if it matters but I replaced the factory radio with a Sony touchscreen. I used a converter harness to connect Sony harness to Porsche harness. Thanks!

Some stuff you probably already know Now that you have the 6 channel amp correctly connected to rear speakers, your radio's fader function will begin to work. That function was included in your original radio, but didn't do anything. The door speakers are just subwoofers and are not rear speakers. The amp includes equalizer circuitry to find bass tones. The equalizer circuitry to find high (tweeter) tones is part of original dash speakers. Run the rear speaker wires under the passenger door plastic floor trim, which pries off easily. When I explored OE 6 channel amps (from 996/911) I discovered there are coupe and cabrio versions. When I finally tried the cabrio version with 323 in the part number, the door speakers became monster woofers! They were really underutilized in the original version of car without rear speakers and the 4X40 amp.
