Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello, just checking the new road tax codes for my 2004 996, has it jumped from £430 to £790 from April, if so who voted for that lot? Kevin.

POST 2Original post

Yes, renamed Vehicle Excise Duty after its earlier iteration, Road Fund Tax was dropped to avoid embarrassment to the Government because money raised never was actually used on the roads - witness the potholed disasters we have to put up with today. Regards, Clive

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello Clive, I love your tag “ the older I get……… “ brilliant. So its a Big Yes from you, so tonight I’ll buy from March 1st loose the month ish and save £360. How long has Rachael Thieves got left. Cheers Kevin.

POST 4Original post

The 2025/2026 Changes: Further significant changes, including taxing electric vehicles, were announced in the Autumn Statement 2022 by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt, taking effect from 1 April 2025 and 1 April 2026.

POST 5Original post

Where does that £430 to £790 figure come from.? As far as I can see class K cars (were £430) will now be £445.

POST 6Original post

Is a 2004 996 Class ,K though? Over 255g/km puts it in M? Same as my 2010 997.2 turbo @ £760?

POST 7Original post

Quotes source post: 1336119

Don’t know but op said “jump from 430” so if it was £430 in apr 25 that’s the class that was that price. Only ev’s have changed bands - so what was, is, and the increase in band appears to be < 5% I would have expected anyone with apr 26 renewal would have had the paperwork by now to know for sure.
