Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

are you replacing all the bolts or will they be good to go back?
Leading evidence: 'Replace bolts or will they be good' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace bolts or will they be good' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

i'm re -using the bolts and shall torque them back to the original spec, they're titanium so i can't see why they'd need replacing.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So I’ve picked these wheels up for a modest fee due to their condition, but miraculously no bad kerbing wounds so I think they’ll be very nice when I’ve done.
I found that clamping the wheels in the vice and applying heat works best , and I wouldn’t even attempt to undo one of these bolts without heating the wheel like this
Any way many hours later and being very careful with plenty of lubricants I used a mixture of petroleum , diesel and wd40 and heat , I successfully removed 79 of the 80 titanium bolts holding them together
so i'll order a drill bit now and try and drill out whats left of the only one that snapped, i'm quite pleased i'd have taken this result at the start.
Next they'll be off to the blasters i think.
I have an original Aero kit that i've collected over the years which is now complete so these are the final piece.
As a bit of fun can anyone guess how much the centre piece of the wheel weighs and then how much the barrel weighs.
i have the answers for each set of wheels fronts and rears.
Hmmm are the fronts 7.5 or 8J?. As if that would help me guess correctly
I'll go 7kg centres, rear barrel 6kg, front barrel 4kg
Great effort with the wheel bolts, that must've been painstaking!
i think i'm going to go back to the original colour as possible, although i may wet and dry the outer lip to a polished finish and just clear lacquer that bit depending on how good i can get them. I also like the centre part done in a satin gold/bronze but it's a bit to far from the original look but i think they look nice like that. Yours look like they have been done to a very high standard , are they powder coated? then lacquered?
I can't give you an accurate figure in kilos, but I can tell you this. If a 10J rear wheel weighs 13kg, the centre would be 8 or 9kg and the barrel 4-5kg.
Those centres are boat anchors !!
I did similar to you at least 10 years ago.
I started removing the bolts on the front wheels, having driven the car for 50 minutes and got the brakes nice and hot ...
1st wheel FL. Bolts flew out.
2nd wheel FR. Bolts came out relatively easily ...
3rd wheel RR. Now almost cold ..Ooooh this is hard work.
4th wheel RL. Now cold. I'm going to need a bigger breaker bar ...
None broke off, but a couple (or 10) needed Timecerts. Fine pitch metric thread from memory , and not cheap !!
i have the centre at 6.60 kg rear and 5.90 fronts, but you are correct saying they are boat anchors i was properly shocked when i felt how heavy they are compared with the barrels. They must be one of the most robust alloys ever made
I have seen that it's now possible to buy an oversized bolt m8 to match and just re tap the hole to suit, i think 2 of mine may need doing as i noticed some aluminium stuck to the bolt when it came out, i'm going to do this option rather than time serts. Although they are £6 quid each
I can't remember how much the Timeserts were, it was at least 10-12 years ago, but they weren't cheap even back then.
Rightly or wrongly, I put a tiny bit of blue Loctite thread lock on mine, just to ensure they wouldn't back out under duress.
Update on these , the centre pieces have gone to a local guy who is blasting and powder coating them for £25 quid each which I thought was ok. I’ve picked a silver colour hopefully similar to the original .
As for the barrels I’ve started to sand the rims back to see if they’ll look nice polished I started with the worst one but I think it’s coming up well.
the insides of my fuchs are black but they do still show up brake dust as its not actually black - more a very dark brown, a decent ceramic coating to the barrels works best IMO
