Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I bought a 2006 997 in February. Checked everything, made one bad assumption. Now that it's 100 f. I take the car for a drive and "poof" cold air, then none. Also, the front fans now run full speed as soon as I start the car. I know there's some relationship between them and the compressor.. Any ideas where to begin looking in a somewhat logical order? (I already tried a refrigerant fluid refill). Thanks!

POST 2Original post

It might be the refrigerant pressure sensing switch. My mechanic replaced mine (and the drier) after similar symptoms.

POST 3Original post

So hot outside its crazy and we are still in June... Have you figured this out yet?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No, I haven't. Been doing a lot of research. It seems like a ruptured line somewhere, or blown O ring. There's a surprising lack of information on YouTube regarding details of the 997.1 air conditioning. I did find one where there was a UV type dye put into the system and then it could be seen from some piping under the body... I'd have thought as the cars are getting older there might be more information. Maybe this isn't that common... Maybe I'm wrong. Here's one that helps.
