I thought it was simply a bad seat track issue but what I found out when I parked the car at a meet that the seat is actually trying to adjust itself while the car sits unoccupied I would expect to a preset memory position.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Has anyone experienced a stripped out electric seat track? When you raise the seat the track makes a loud pop like it is jumpy a spline. I thought it was simply a bad seat track issue but what I found out when I parked the car at a meet that the seat is actually trying to adjust itself while the car sits unoccupied I would expect to a preset memory position. While this is happening it is hitting that stripped out spline causing the seat to pop loudly. So now I do not know if I have bad control unit that caused the seat track to strip out but not stopping the seat once it reach its limit or is the track just bad causing the control unit not to register the seat track is at its limit. Anyone run into this?
