There is a vent hose that was in the way so I had to modify the tie down by drilling a large hole in it and then used a hack saw to open up the hole.

Suggestion · Original poster

Securing a 997/996/Boxster or Cayman to a trailer is next to impossible without the use of wheel straps that are just about guaranteed to destroy your wheels in time.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Front Tie Down/Jack Plate **Product Release** Securing a 997/996/Boxster or Cayman to a trailer is next to impossible without the use of wheel straps that are just about guaranteed to destroy your wheels in time. Save those expensive wheels with a set of inexpensive tie down hooks from Rennline. These hooks have been specifically engineered to bolt to the front of your car without any modification or removal of any factory torqued bolts. Another great feature of these hooks are that Rennline has incorporated a much needed jack pad that will allow you to easily lift the front of your car without the worry of damaging your rocker panel or plastic under trays. Hooks are constructed of steel and powder coated red. Each kit comes with (2) front hooks and all hardware needed for a 5 minute installation. To purchase this item please click here !

POST 2Original post

I ordered the front and rear tie downs for my 2008 Cayman S. They all installed well except for the front right. There is a vent hose that was in the way so I had to modify the tie down by drilling a large hole in it and then used a hack saw to open up the hole.
