Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. I am about to purchase my first Porsche 996 c2 manual 68k miles 1998 off my dad hes had it 20 year only covering 6-7k miles in this time and been garaged. Not used since 2019/20 needs a few minor bits few hoses have gone soft so going to replace & do all fluids/service etc. its well looked after and had some suspension components done already and a load of other things too much to list Full exhaust system including headers He is keeping the wheels but i have a set of BBS sport classic II to refurb and put on ( what tyre sizes are advised) Anything else worth looking out for to start with ?

POST 2Original post

hiya, welcome so 4 years without any movement ?

POST 4Original post

Welcome to the forum. my 2001 C4 had been sat on a garage forecourt for several years and when I started having work done the garage noticed that some furry friends had been previous tenants. As such I’d highly recommend having someone check the coolant pipes as some of mine had been gnawed. Rads and AC condensers might need to be looked at as well as the fragile fins may have corroded in those 2 years. Tyres may be cracked as well.

POST 5Original post

Lovely looking car - I really like aero kits, wish my car had one. After the service I guess get driving. As you are aware, these cars are getting old and so periodically things will need addressing. So keep a fund going to help support that - otherwise just go and enjoy.

POST 6Original post

Hope your dad offered you a decent " family rate "............??? Enjoy and use this forum as much as poss.... some really knowledgeable folk on here... friendly too. Si.

POST 8Original post

Welcome! Nice looking car. Sounds sensible to get all fluids checked/changed if it hasn't been used for a while. Then get driving and enjoy. Any issues will soon highlight themselves. I would check for rust around arch lips and floor pan and treat as necessary. Remove the rear arch liners and give it a good clean. The aero skirts can trap crud leading to corrosion.

POST 9Original post

Tyre size probably 225/40/18 and 265/35/18 for those wheels

The lsd will need rebuilding if it has a few miles on it. Something to consider. Wish mine had an lsd. It’s on the list of things to do but for now I’m just enjoying mine. Been a while’s since I’ve been able to just go for a rip in it.

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

its only covered just less than 70k miles

POST 21Original post

Quotes source post: 2705478

50,000 road miles is meant to be the rebuild mileage. It will likely still lock up but just not at the correct time due to having zero preload. If it’s just a road car not going on track will probably never notice it.

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 28 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Managed a full clean inside and out in the sun tonight Re synced the key fob after finding an old thread on here so now it’s all fully working I need to adjust the passenger door as it looks to sit out a bit too far but I noticed inside the door shut where the latch attaches the star bolts that hold it on are rounded off Also the spoiler had a wrap on it and now I know why because the centre section is black so that will be going for painting

POST 29 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone any ideas why my fronts might be catching Right size tyres and I’m running 15mm spacers all round

POST 30Original post

POST 31 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 2732845

Seen quit a Few running same on the Facebook page without any issues Rhys what’s thrown me

POST 32Original post

Quotes source post: 2732846

same, i run gt3 spec wheels up front so et40 and 8.5 wide and these rub front and back but others with the same wheel have no issues. I think it could be a caster issue / arch liner. i ended up warming the liners up with a heat gun and remoulding them out of the way to make more room

POST 33 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 2732856

Might take the wheels off and try this the arch liners seem pretty stiff though like there isn’t much room for movement Wondering if a smaller spacer might make the difference then

POST 34Original post

Quotes source post: 2732858

It mite do. I ran 7mm front and 15mm rear before that seamed ok. I fitted the new wheels and new liners at the same time as the old ones where broken

POST 35Original post

Quotes source post: 2732846

I’ve got 15’s front and back, fronts only just say touching arch liners on full lock so not an issue driving, might go to 10’s

POST 36 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 2733156

I think I’m going to try warm my liners up and push them back or no good I’ll get some 7mm spacers instead to try

POST 37Original post

I’ve just had my liners out to give everything a good clean and tidy up, they’re pretty robust the way they’re attached to the radiator housings and inner wing, I don’t think there’s anywhere for them to go to be fair. Are they catching before full lock?

POST 38 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 2733170

No not catching until about half lock Annoying reversing into parking spots or pulling out of somewhere sharp it’s the same on both sides

POST 39 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Drive out to the motorist on Friday morning for an hour Noticed almost like a dry creak coming from OS front at low speeds Looking to change the coffin arms on the front along with the tuning forks Rs engine mounts on their way along with yellow powerflex gearbox bushes

POST 40 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Steering wheel arrived along with some 10mm spacers to swap on the front as the 15mm were catching

POST 41 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Annoying creak started a few days ago need to start going through the suspension it’s on the driver side. It’s more noticeable at low speeds This video is me pushing up and down on the front wing

POST 42 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I changed out the 15mm spacers on the front for some 10mm and the rubbing/catching is almost gone (so I’ll have some 15mm spacers available if anyone is after some) Sprayed all the front bushes and the creaking has stopped so hopefully ok for now until I get round to a suspension refresh Nice clean car this morning and ride out into Leeds this afternoon.

POST 47 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Coilovers should be here this week! I have factory M030 suspension currently Does anyone have a ride height/and alignment spec to go at for the best set up for a road use (want to go lower that factory but don’t just want to go off what I think looks good)

POST 48 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just a few bits waiting to go on along with engine mounts and powerflex gearbox bushes

POST 49Original post

Quotes source post: 2744738

alignment is very personal on how you want the car to drive vs tyre wear. I have an extreme setup for a road car but I love how it makes the car feel to drive. For a proper fast road / track setup with no care for tyre wear have a google of Roland Kussmaul. That's not far off the setup I have but with my car sitting higher. gt3 specs are a nice starting point but i would go for higher end of the hight range. GT3 hight GT3 alignment

POST 50 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So the parts are fitted Yellow speed coilovers (set pretty firm) Front coffin arms Front tuning forks Yellow powerflex gearbox bushes Semi solid engine mounts Mod 7 steering wheel Sitting roughly 112mm front & 125mm rear I can’t actually believe the difference in how this car drives now it’s incredible! The gear changes after the engine mounts and bushes are just unreal I can imagine even better with a short shift Need to fit my 911uk front lip now as this one won’t last 2 minutes

POST 51Original post

Looking great Ryan. How are you finding the coil overs? Did you fit them yourself? The stance looks perfect

POST 52 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 2747771

They are awesome ! A friend did them whilst I was away he was impressed with them said they seemed great especially for the money. Car rides nice on them too no complaints

POST 53Original post

Yeah it’s the very same kit I’m looking at. Mines standard set up and rides lovely just way too high but don’t want to fit lowering springs and risk damaging the shocks. Job for the winter perhaps. Cheers Ryan

I checked everything a couple weeks ago oil Level & coolant was all sound Drove it to my friends for the suspension work doing etc so it’s been there for a couple weeks and just drove it home seemed fine Was on the phone to genome Porsche discussing coolant flush and re fill and gearbox oil change just to refresh it all. Got in the car to move it on my drive to wash it and noticed the digi oil level showing 1 bar so thought that’s strange went to check and that’s what I found (never started the car so I’m hoping it’s happened on my drive home) I had perfect oil pressure and temp levels no lights come in the dash etc

Great looking car and I also like the Aerokits. I’ve got techart formula wheels on my 996 which aren’t quite the Fuchs look but do give it the impression it has wheel spacers given the dish. 18” on mine and ride is nice enough yet handling not compromised. Enjoy the adventure. And the points on the slush fund are apt!

Like everyone is saying, I just hope it's your oil cooler. Whatever you're going to have oil in the coolant for a long long time , just use water while it's warm to flush it out , I don't know if you could add some detergent without it frothing up , maybe run a hose in the tank with it constantly draining for a while.

The o rings look like they’ve had it so I’m praying this is where my issue has come from. New cooler going on with o rings and flushing the system a few times and will have to run it with water in for now and keep flushing it until runs clear before I put new coolant in

That does look dreadful. Hopefully it fixes your issue! On a related note, Stomski produce a dedicated tester for the 996/7 oil cooler. Bit expensive for the home mechanic for an ocassional job! But if you were a professional mechanic specialising in the type, I'd be tempted. https://www.design911.co.uk/p/stomski-racing-sr062-heat-exchanger-tester-for-porsche-996---997/

I hope so mate New cooler & o rings going on today and system getting another flush out

POST 81 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So the new oil cooler is on after the old one was a mess on removal Also found today my AOS is in its way out so new one and hoses coming next week wondering if this has contributed to my issue Drove 10miles home car drove spot on but it used some oil. Was told to try and remove the oil cap when engine running to see if it was hard to remove or not and it was rock solid obviously a vacuum from somewhere On a plus note managed to get 1 of my seats in

POST 82Original post

Others will correct me if I am wrong, But I thought if its is very difficult to remove the oil filler cap when engine is running, its an indication of a failing AOS.

POST 83 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 2752640

Yeh that’s what Iv said above that’s how Iv found out it’s failing (good chance this could also contribute to some oil usage and maybe some intermix)

POST 84Original post

Keep us updated, be good to hear how things go from here. Seats look good, what mounts did you use? Hopefully you can get the car back running properly soon so you can test them out.

POST 85 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 2752685

Will do mate cheers OMP bases and sparco side mounts driver has a runner passenger will be fixed AOS is hopefully going on next week try get car ready for German day next Saturday at the motorist

POST 86 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

New AOS and hoses arrived yesterday and I decided to take out the passenger seat ready for new one going in Short shifter going on this week along with the AOS and I’m thinking about getting a centre console delete whilst it’s all apart

POST 87 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So another update after car seemed to have used a tad of oil since picking it up on the drive home after oil cooler fitted. I was thinking the issue might still be there so considered AOS as I had checked removing the oil cap but I’d not let the car warm up I did it soon as I started so oil cap seemed to be on solid Obviously I needed to let it warm up a few mins and then check but off I went back to my mates place soon as I got there he checked it and said it’s fine . . . AOS now on hold all oils topped up and coolant so far so good going to run it a few weeks and then do another coolant flush and drain refill as there’s still bits of oil coming through as there was so much in the system

POST 88Original post

Hope it all works out. At least the AOS doesn't need changing.

POST 89 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 2753583

I’m just going to run the car for next couple weeks and see what happens Iv used it tonight and not used any oil but I’m still getting a skin sitting on top of water in expansion bottle I’m presuming and hoping it’s still old ***** coming through the system Need another proper flush with degreaser detergent again

POST 90Original post

Yep, oil will always fit the highest point in the system, which it has in the expansion tank. It might sound daft, but if you can try to get a little kitchen roll into the tank to just dab the surface, it should pick up that film. A few goes at this over a few days might clear it and save the need for a flush?

POST 91Original post

Get a turkey baster and suck it off the top in the tank.

POST 92Original post

Quotes source post: 2753607

Good shout, but can you video it and add some up-beat jaunty music to entertain us all?

POST 93Original post

You might get oil residue for a while - the 996 coolant system is notoriously labyrinthine. If the oil is getting less each time you flush (and you might need to a couple of times), then that would definitely imply that the root cause has been solved. Fingers crossed for you!

POST 96Original post

use a lint free cotton cloth rather than kitchen roll - you dont need any more FOD in there...............

POST 97 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Spent an hour syringing a load of crap sitting on top of the water tonight ran it up to temp let the top of the water come out over the top and sucked a load more crap off it. Turned the car off and topped levels back up and went out for a spin. Car drove a million times better felt much more power and smooth let’s hope all is ok in the morning with oil level & just some crap on the top of the water again will do this a couple of times over the next week and give it a proper flush with a degreaser

POST 98Original post

I’ve no experience of this on a 996 but seems quite a job to flush it through

POST 99 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 2753737

Yep it is the main hard job is bleeding the system up have to get arse end right up in the air and run it up and leave it up on stands with cap off for couple days some times

POST 100 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Clean up today & passenger seat fitted.

POST 101 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Update car running spot on but Going to get new AOS fitted since I have it and it probably will be original on Same time water pump low temp thermostat & full coolant flush out again and top up I’m supplying AOS and going to get meyle water pump and whaler low temp thermostat what should I expect to pay for it all doing ?

POST 102Original post

~6 hours labour + consumables I'd say so depends on your garage's hourly rate

POST 103Original post

Gotta love the 3/4 rear view of the 911.. !!

POST 104Original post

Ryan..are you doing your coolant changes with plain water? I mean it should be fine during the summer Autumn and coolant is nasty , expensive stuff to use as a flush. Have you tried detergent of any kind yet? You'll probably get some oily deposits in the tank for a very long time but it won't hurt anything really.

POST 105 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 2756156

Yes just using plain water at the minute and getting left over oil still coming through after a drive it’s just sitting on top of water so Im sucking out with a syringe and fishing out what I can then topping back up with water for now. It’s just annoying getting a skim of oil and minging in the bottle I have got some extreme degreaser to drop in and run through when it gets the new Aos and water pump etc done in the next couple of weeks then I will re fill with coolant on that one

POST 106 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sooooooo Long anticipated return . . . Following installing a new oil cooler & seals the system was still picking some bits through so decided on another full degrease & flush on the cooling system along with new low temp thermostat, water pump & belt. I did have an AOS to go on but the bolts seem to be in stiff and he didn’t want to snap them and currently no signs of AOS failure I was doing it for sakes sake Iv had to top up the coolant after first drive (around 40 miles) I’m guessing there was still bits of air in the system etc it took around half a litre Done a further 60 miles since and not used a drop still the odd bit of oil residue coming through but it’s not thick or sludgey it’s just making its way back out it’s hardly anything just syringed any bits out No oil usage so I’m hoping and praying Iv got there in the end I’m still building up the courage for a long day out in it Can’t actually wait to drive it properly especially since doing all suspension work I haven’t had the chance to drive it

POST 107Original post

Nice one. A few more syringes after a run and you should be clear.

POST 108 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 109 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yesterday’s trip to pick up this 996 for my dad. After selling me his that he regretted he asked me to look out for him one. Zenith blue manual non sunroof 54k miles full Porsche history (stacks of it) Mines only done 20k more miles but my clutch is so heavy compared to his and gear changes are a lot stiffer could this me a sign of clutch going (it’s not slipping or high) just really heavy it’s like a workout

POST 110Original post

Nice one! Lovely colour. If your clutch is original and not a replacement competition clutch then it is likely to be the pressure plate springs beginning to fail. Removing the transmission and doing the clutch might feel like a daunting task, but if you can get the car on some high axle stands, it's not the nightmare it could be perceived to be. I did mine single handedly for the first time without an issue. I'd be happy to guide through and assist where I can. Likely save four figures of labour and you can do lots of other nice jobs whilst you're down there such a rear main seal, inspect the IMS, brake pipe over the trans etc, etc. If you fancy having a crack, let me know and I'll make a list of the all the tools you'll need.

POST 111 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 2764708

Think I’m going to do it with my dad next year at his place so yeh that would be handy what clutch kit is recommended for these ! Iv been told not to touch the IMS on the early one unless there are signs of failure just inspect it

POST 112Original post

Quotes source post: 2764711

I'll get a list of stuff needed and fire it over at some point. Early dual row IMS has a much lower failure rate, and based on what I've researched, including guidance from Hartech, is that if there's no detectable wear/play, pop the seal off and leave it be. Mine felt like the volume on on a high end audio amplifier.

POST 120 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So after noticing my car was getting some condensation on the inside and then realising the carpet was wet in rear foot well and under the rear seat I investigated today and found that the sunroof drain wasn’t in where it was meant to be so water has just been running down into the car Managed to get it back in place so hoping my issue is now sorted Fun and games trying to get the carpet/foam dry now I have an oil heater and de humidifier set up In the back of the car as I ran out of daylight to get the rear carpet out

POST 121 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Spent the morning stripping the rest of the car out Tempted to take out all the foam and do do mat it or something all the foam is just falling to bits

POST 122 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It’s been a while Carpet is now dry, the sunroof drain wasn’t in the correct place originally so water had just been coming back into the car. Just waiting for the rubber drain valve that sits on the body of the car so the drain pipe can go into it and seal everything. Hopefully that’s problem solved until get some time to cut the roof off and go for a carbon one from D911 Had a ride up to the motorist for a couple of hours this morning and then Today’s job was Porsche Tequipment cage install. Thinks we would get it done in a weekend Front screen and rear screen have to come out on ours and 9/10 the front dc teen cracks on removal so prepare for a new windscreen if you have the green tint at the top too (factory Porsche they see to be expensive) Believe you can do them with interior in aswell just fiddly getting headliner out but I’ll have a go with it in as don’t really want to take the cage out again if it comes out again it won’t be going back in was a bit of a t**t of a job lining it all up

Yes, I was in exactly the same boat and fixed it three weeks ago - there are four grommets under the door to remove - two for tilt and two that ratchet the height on the mechanism Here you go Thread 'Raise drivers side window a few mm' 15 Mar 2024 Hi All, So I get quite a bit of wind noise from the drivers side when driving >70mph. What I’ve noticed is that the rear section of the widow looks like it needs raising about 3mm. After looking on the good old interweb I see that there are 4 rubber bungs on the underneath of the door, two towards the front of the car and two towards the rear. If you remove the bungs you get access to two 5mm bolts but I’m not sure which one would actually raise the window. Does anyone know which bolt I should use to raise the back section of the window? stupidget Replies: 20 Forum: Porsche 911 996 (1997-2005)

Nice! I went with CTE coffin arms, TRW drop links and Meyle top mounts so far. Still searching out the best price for the tuning forks and may stick at that for now. Would love a set of APEX wheels but the budget won't stretch to that this year. Desperate to get the new suspension on though. Looking forward to seeing the new wheels on your car!

Yehh I’m looking forward to getting them on need a ride out to get some good photos then

POST 208 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So today was the day the work began !! The arms and bushes were absolutely shot so good job I got them all. Fair few seized bolts too especially a caliper bolt that has snapped. Had to cut the arm and cut the bolt to remove the coffin arm. Had to drill it out and re thread it (need a new bolt) Hand brake guide had seized In the hub also so that had to be drilled out and I need a new guide sleeve. Not sure how to get the old one off and new one fitted as it seems as though it’s crimped on. Friend has a garage so the press he has come in mega handy for replacing the wheel bearing ! Driver side done now need to do passenger side then it’s ready for alignment

POST 209 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Went to fit the wheel stud conversion kit and they’ve sent me the wrong studs They have sent me m14 x 1.25 and not m14 x 1.5 Annoyingly I didn’t have standard bolts to hand so Iv had to fit the wheels with 10mm spacer on the front and 15mm spacer on the rear. The driver side looks mega aggressive and close to the rear arch and the passenger side dosnt look too bad (probably because the suspension will be all sagged as haven’t done that side yet) Few photos to give you the idea on how they look for now before spacers come off Wheel specs 18x8j et 40 18x10j et 55

POST 210Original post

Those look superb! How many of the suspension arms bolts did you have to cut out? I'll be looking to do the same job soon.

The rear coffin arm bolt in the subframe needed to be cut out. The hand brake guide was seized in so that had to be drilled out of the hub (still need to sort this on the cable end) The spacer bit that goes on the control arm we needed to cut the end off and get in a vice Other than that was ok as long as you have all the gear will be fine (see what passenger side is like tomorrow)

POST 212 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Couple photos down the line 15mm spacer on the rear looks great fitment but it’s running mega amount of camber so it misses the rear arch

POST 214 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 2824810

Looks good but think a bit too much camber I’ll have no inner tyre left

POST 215 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Will be advertising these this evening Pop me a message if interested 18x7.5 et50 18x10 et65

POST 216 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Few more photos tonight with centre caps in and stud kit fitted 15mm Spacers need to come off the rear I shouldn’t have bothered keeping them on ended up scrubbing rear tyre on the way home got lucky it’s just rubbed and not split it

POST 217Original post

They look very nice I would have thought the offsets you have would work nicely without spacers?

POST 219Original post

Quotes source post: 2825143

I thought the offsets that APEX do for those wheels were a match for the 996 GT3 specs, so you shouldn't really need the spacers, or possibly only 5mm ones.

POST 220 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes all I got greedy with the look/stance of the 15mm spacer and pushed my luck. The specs are perfect without

POST 221 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good lighting so thought get a few photos fueling up Spacers now off the back & ready for kip & nook event tomorrow Iv still got a 10mm on the front for now

POST 222Original post

They look great. Front looks good with 10mm, and rear looks like it could work with maybe 5mm extra poke. I'm very envious!

POST 223 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 2825405

Yehh I think I’m tempted to try a 5mm on the back

POST 224 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Shiny new arms with my hand brake cables tied up waiting for new handbrake guides that were seized into the hub

POST 226Original post

Looking good on those wheels (Please tell me you are going to paint the disc bells when you fix the handbrake )

POST 227 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Now Iv got the outside something like (apart from carbon roof) I am starting to look at the audio system I have stock 490 basic sound with dash speakers, front door speakers & rear speakers I have factory bead into but looking at the continental one and think I have factory amp These are the speakers I am looking at for front dash and the rear Hertz Dieci DCX 100.3 To meet all installation needs, without giving up on Hertz quality and performance, the Hertz Dieci DCX 100.3 coaxes were designed with maniacal care to provide a linear frequency response and ensure high reliability. caraudiodirect.co.uk Will purchase the adaptor plates aswell as the little wiring harness for each speaker

POST 228 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So everything arrived yesterday to install my new speakers for the front dash and rear. I did a lot of research and ended up deciding on Hertz Dieci DCX 100.3 4” 10cm 3-way coaxial speakers 60W I bought this adaptor kit from eBay https://ebay.io/m/MBKAJx Along with this harness from Amazon I just had to snip off the negative and crimp on the right size Acmerota Set of 4 Car Speaker Adapters to DIN Compatible for Dacia, for Renault, for Seat, for Skoda, for Volvo, for VW, for Audi, for Nissan, for Citroen Jumper II 2006-2014 : Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo Acmerota Set of 4 Car Speaker Adapters to DIN Compatible for Dacia, for Renault, for Seat, for Skoda, for Volvo, for VW, for Audi, for Nissan, for Citroen Jumper II 2006-2014 : Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo www.amazon.co.uk Pretty straight forward install the speakers are quite deep so on the rear I had to remove a hand full of the sound deadning/insulation. I just put my hand through the speaker hole and pulled it out to make room. I now need to do the front door card speakers thoigh as I can really tell the difference if anyone can reccomend any that would be great !

POST 229 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anyone provide any adaptors/baffles for front door cards to allow a 6” speaker upgrade ??

Random photo dump from today Last minute ride out up to The Motorist for a quick brew. Given a decent run out tested the new speakers and got them set something like. Home and have the car a quick clean ready for cars and coffee morning up at Wharfbank mills in Otley Leeds Recently switched to millers 10w-50 but the car is smelling a bit oily never noticed it before until last service and switching to this oil. Iv done around 250 miles since servicing and the oil is 2 bars from the very top on the digi reading not sure if it’s slightly over filled and to take a drop out

POST 236 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Had a ride out to Otley this morning for a couple of hours to meet up with another taco owner and my mate in his e92 m3 Annoying no photos of our cars together

POST 237 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ride out to local detailing company this morning who had a German meet on The car got a lot of attention

POST 238 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I spent the morning re aligning the gear shifter cable. It feels a million times better but isn’t perfect it still sounds a bit notchy on the cable from the box so presume that part might need changing on top of the box. It’s hard to describe but it sounds a bit like linkage dry catchy sort of noise don’t know how else to describe it Took the car out for a blast in the sun afterwards one I got it adjusted
