My p-dealer told me 3 hours minimum (without GPS antenna or microphone) - I skipped GPS during my install because I only plan on using CarPlay and skipped external microphone because the unit has a built in mic that works just fine.

Hi everyone. Finally pulled the trigger on a PCCM+ . Does anyone have experience with a good installer in central CT? I could try DIY, but seems pretty complicated and I'm not confident I won't screw something up. Thanks in advance.

what year is yours? I did mine a few weeks ago and it was very straightforward. Took about 2.5 hours taking my time - I say this and then think about how long it took to put an Avin CarPlay unit in my e46, that one was 2.5 days� from what I understand if you have 2004/2005 (and some 2003 models) with Bose and MOST it�s extremely straightforward - no tapping wires, just move slow, take out lower center console and relocate the AC to the bottom, that part probably took the most time and it was really just getting the wires down the right side. My p-dealer told me 3 hours minimum (without GPS antenna or microphone) - I skipped GPS during my install because I only plan on using CarPlay and skipped external microphone because the unit has a built in mic that works just fine. After install once unit is powered (and iPhone NOT plugged in), push phone, then options, scroll down and turn off external mic and voila, mic w out all the hassle. I ultimately decided to do it and am very glad I did. There are a few good videos on YouTube I can share if interested.
