When I check along the airbag wiring harness, I found that the harness bents sharply near the seat hinge area and is in contact with the mechanical parts nearby.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi, Just want to share my experience. Hope it could help someone had same issue as mine I searched a lot on the internet and found not too much information about 991 I bought a 991.1S a few months ago The airbag light comes on intermediately The OBD tool show DTC 0504 or 0501, something like passenger throax airbag exceed limit or shorted to ground (my fault that did not check the data flow right away) I took notes of the condition every time the lights comes on and one day realized out that it seems mostly happening when I had a passenger Originally I was thinking the passenger detecting sensor might go wrong but when I saw some posts saying some porche models (non - 991) will have airbag wiring harness defect when stretching the seat too far Then I tried to fold and move the passenger seat and the passenger airbag light comes on immediaetly when I fold it. Checked the data flow, the resistance of passenger seat airbag became almost 800 ohm when I fold the seat. Normally this number should be around 2~3 ohm. It's almost open circuit now. So this is the problem, shall be the airbag wiring harness. I took the passenger seat off, disassembled the back cushion and side airbag for better inspecting the airbag wiring harness When I check along the airbag wiring harness, I found that the harness bents sharply near the seat hinge area and is in contact with the mechanical parts nearby. The tape and the issulation rubber layer at this area is almost gone. When I was pulling the tape off, the harness is completely broken already. So I reconnect these wires and soldered them Now the problem is fixed
